Man ya'll getting too upset over the last minute. Everything else in the finale was really good. Brought back good memories of when the show was at its best. Great closure for most of the story lines. Yeah, I didn't like the whole going back to Robin part, but 95% of the finale was well done. Especially compared to the past 2 seasons.

The last 5 minutes negated most of the 9 seasons

No, it wasn't. We sat through 20 largely mediocre episodes of Barney and Robin's wedding, only for the first twenty minutes to negate it because they got divorced. I'm fine with them getting divorced, but we didn't need 22 episodes of their wedding weekend if that's how it was gonna end up. Then Barney goes right back into his old ways until he knocks one of his skanks up, then he suddenly becomes some doting dad, and it feels so disingenuous, like a lot of this season. Plus Robin whining over Ted again.

It did have some moments, though. Barney seeing his daughter for the first time, and Ted's first conversation with Tracy were decent, though still problematic.

I don't agree with this, though. It was pretty obvious that the mother would be dead and Ted would end up with Robin eventually.

Doesn't necessarily mean I have to like it though.

It wasn't obvious until a few episodes ago when he said the line about missing the daughter's wedding

Watched the first 7 seasons faithfully and got turned off, read the spoilers about the finale and am mad as hell...prob wont even watch:snoop:

What happened with the mother does explain why Sagat is telling stories, but god damn they should of had the mother by season 5:why:

The ending rendered virtually the last season or two pointless. Sad thing is, we should've known.

Had me like :dwillhuh: when the daughter was wrapping it all up. I was like, "That ish was clear as day from the jump, I just didn't want to believe it." I straight up feel cheated, and frankly embarrassed/like a dumbass for not accepting what the deal was. I would have been fine if Ted ended up alone, or just had Robin be the mom from the jump.

Simply put, there was nothing I could do. And I didn't believe it.:snoop:

Nah, I disagree. I mean Victoria came back in seasons 7 and 8 just for Ted to reconcile his feelings for Robin. She even told him when they broke up, "I really hope you get her someday." That wasn't just a throwaway line.

Plus Marshall and Lily had that bet where Lily thought they wouldn't end up together, but Marshall did, and Marshall refused to pay up.

I think we can all agree that season 9 was one of the most pointless seasons in TV history. But I'm not going to take away anything from the finale because of that. And I for one enjoyed the closure that all of the characters received. Maybe it's the nostalgia speaking, but I enjoyed it like I used to enjoy HIMYM from seasons 1-7.
