Putting together is dumb easy.... You can't put a SATA cable in a CPU slot :heh: it really is like legos... Matching parts and getting the best deal is hard/fun part....

so i been looking at websites, since i'm in Canada, newegg.com doesn't work for me.

So i've been comparing prices between NCIX and directcanada and NCIX seems to be the cheaper one.

I did a "mock" build by adding parts but i got $580 before taxes and a little over $600 after.

here's what i got:
AMD Phenom II X4 - 99.99
ASRock 970 EXTREME3 - 95
XFX Radeon HD 6870 900MHZ 1GB - 139.99
Corsair 8gb Ram - 39.99
Coolermaster 212+ - 28
1TB Seagate - 70
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w power supply - 49
zantac case - $50

Newegg has its own canada website. Newegg Canada - Computer Products, Laptops, Electronics, HDTVs, Digital Cameras, Cellphones and More!

I have 2 6870s ill let you have them for $200 + shipping. Both under a year old.

If you can afford it get a 120gb ssd drive for operating system and programs. one of the best upgrades you can do on a computer.

it's definitely a gratifying experience knowing what every wire in that box does

Build an Awesome Budget Gaming PC for $375 | Tek Syndicate

its easy...just read before you jump into it. Hardest part is not even putting it together..
I can beat that build.

He needs to drop down to a G530 and get a better power supply. A 620, while faster is not going to make a difference at all in games.

He should also go with a single 8gb ram stick

Drop the 500gb hdd to a 250gb hdd and get a small 60gb ssd to increase the speed.

He also picked a very shytty power supply.

He can get a 5770 for about the same price on amazon marketplace or a forum.

Nice. Love that heat sink. But it's overkill on the PSU (you'll be fine with 500W, & an otherwise bad choice on cheaping out on the PSU.

Don't forget extra Thermal Paste. Also, save all the f*cking boxes for like two months to be safe. And lastly, stay off carpets when you're assembling it (maybe even cop a ground wire bracelet).

I'd change the PSU to

Newegg.com - CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 V2 (CMPSU-430CXV2) 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

or

Newegg.com - CORSAIR Builder Series CX500 V2 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

That Raidmax bullshyt prob can't feed 500W nor would I risk it frying my system over time.
