I remember a recruiter from the art institute was giving me information. I was ready to sign up but I said give me a day to think. When I laid down that night I realized he never mentioned how much it would cost.

I got out of bed and googled the cost and these crackas wanted 20k a year for an online only curriculum. Literally sitting there watching drawing and fashion tutorials.

The recruiter calls me back the next day. I told him I’m having second thoughts. I said I’d rather focus on work. He asked what I did for a living. I told him I was a cashier at a grocery store.

He said “how far are you gonna get in life working as a cashier”. :troll:

That shyt stung but I was only 19 at the time. I’m glad I never went through with that shyt.

If we're being completely honest, a lot of these scams could be avoided if people would do their basic level of research. You can easily look up a college and the reviews from people who went there and know if it's worth it or not.

It's sometimes laughable that the government has to step in and protect some people from their own naive and stupidity.

Amerikkka was built on, and to this day, is all about taking advantage of people, especially those of African descent. Why single out this one corporation?

People take advantage of other people's naiveness and stupidity on a daily basis. In some cases, if you fall for it then that's on you. This is one of those cases as you can easily do research about colleges and universities from people who have went there.

People gotta quit falling for these basic level hustles. I don't care if you're a teenager or not. You gotta do your research. If it's bad reviews from people who got scammed, then don't go there. It's that simple.

They targeted people who were looking for short cuts. It's just that their most famous memed shyt was the breh "get off couch" ad. Burned a lot of international students too. Before that ad there was devry type shyt. I know people who went there and got useless degrees. Same with for profit dental schools. Targeted a lot of people looking to fast pace school.

They have been illegal out here for years now.

I understand what you're saying but you still should do research

A quick google search could push you in the right direction

We have access to so much information that I think the onus is on you

I'm not saying these quick degree colleges don't have shady dealings and that they shouldn't be sued

What I am saying that as an adult you should do way more research, especially if you're going to sink a huge amount of time into schooling
Should be common sense.

back in the day i enrolled in a for profit school called TCI college in NYC. I met with the advisor, applied for financial aid and received a class schedule. luckily i didnt attend. Those b*stards still tried charging me like $6000. I just looked them up and they shut down in 2017.
