Hate to give the blueprint but when ny gets back on its conceited shyt and stop trying to befriend other regions is when they will find themselves.

Sometimes to get your house in order you have to lock your doors and just do you!

Stop chasing fans and make them come to you.

I feel like every coast has some heat except the East right now. There is nobody coming out the East that's the equivalent to a Kendrick Lamar or a Big K.R.I.T.

All my most anticipated guys out the East are old n1ggas or guys who have had their time.

It's like them dudes forgot how to make hits and bangers.

Remember Black Rob's Whoa, DMX's Party Up, and M.O.P.'s Ante Up?

Who out the East is doing it like that right now?

French Montana? Fabolous? Banks? LMAO

Just be happy guys like Jay-z, Nas, and 50 still around.

French Montana?

There's your answer. French and A$AP Rocky are the ones doing that. They're the ones that got people here lovin their shyt.

and since you said East, two more words: Meek Mill.

That aside, the artist making the best NY-style music right now is probably Rick Ross. That's why MMG related stuff always stays in heavy rotation up here.

Cause NY can't change its guard to the younger dudes. You want Grandpa Hov still make hits for ya like it's 98? Plus the damage is already done. The south has been integrated in people's heads for so long that they can't make a boom bap beat into a universal hit. Cause that Euro music and 808s is crack to they ears.

and if Clams Casino actually didn't look at producing as a side hustle, include him too.

Harry Fraud doesn't even use that many soulful samples. He takes a lot of rock shyt and flips it.

As for NY and the sound, we love that Rick Ross sounding shyt. We don't even look at it as Southern to be honest. That Lex Luger /Southside shyt lights shyt up anywhere. That's some get hyped music.

This dude is delusional. Just give the south it's props and stop tryna beat around the bush.

when fans let old headz like jay and nas go and embrace new talent

but its really over for new york

NY dominated the game when other cities and regions never had scenes so they got support from all around the country and even up top here in Canada. Now were in an era where people want to support their own homegrown artists.

Another thing, New Yorkers even B,C and D list ones all think their important. It's like Cali where everyone is trying to be a celebrity...who are the fans?

In Hip-Hop today, there is more artists than actual fans.

old heads need to move on. i dont blame them for making their bread but the last 5 years they were not cosigning or mentoring no NY artists.

you telling me with all of jay's clout that nikka couldn't have brought along one young nikka from BK or Queens or BX like Jaz O and others did for him? :smh: bytch ass nikka.

jay will throw ny a bone once or twice a year with a couple shows at the garden but that nikka out in europe at dance festivals 90% of the time.

nan one of these old nikkas from jay to busta to nas to fat joe to dmx to diddy to ruff ryders to wu or any of the old regime at def jam were trying to open lanes for young ny hip hop artists the past few years. the only one who is trying is cam.

In rap? None way what so ever. Only way is for them is culturally, starting with art and real musicianship besides rap. We are living in a time where everything has been done under the sun.

Alot of people saying NY is biting southern style production but I think it's more just the evolution of the sound of hip hop as a whole. Lets face it the tempo of music has speed up, with more intracaces than the slower boom bap tempo NY dominated in. Not to say that they can't bring heat on "trap" type beats, but they'll need to bring their own flavor along with that. As much as people hate on Jim Jones I think his Vampire Life 2 mixtape is a good template on how NY music should sound. Same NY vibe, but with the uptempo type production that dominates the hip hop scene as a whole.

im gonna have to critique this bullshyt right here. Its no way there are more intricacies than in the 90s. in that era the best mcs painted pictures with verses, the language was alot more delicate and smooth but complex at the same time. nowadays its just some corny say how much money u got n how much weed u smoke in some basic ass slave drawl. not havin it.
