I do everything within my power to try and convince whoever I'm eating with to try their steak medium.

Convincing some black folk to not get their steaks well done is always a fight, but I've converted a LOT of folks to the medium/medium + life and they never ever go back. Every chef I know has confirmed they they give the least apealing looking piece of meat to people ordering well done since it won't matter.

I'm still working on my pops tho, he's pretty set in his ways. Now he says he'll try a medium steak only if I pay for it.

I eat them medium for now. My parents are very ignorant about food and germ freaks, so I never had a steak below well done until I was 16 years old. After I tried a medium steak I never went back.
I know I need to go down to medium rare, but Ive never been a high end steak house and when I order a medium rare from a regular place, the steak isnt always consistently cooked throughout, and it makes me nervous.
