Yea Canada is severely overrated as a Utopia ESPECIALLY the big cities which have almost all the problems of an American big cities except for the extreme proliferation of firearms, but it is my home and I can't help but think that I helped build it simply by being a productive tax paying member of society, if even briefly. The best part of Canada in relation to the United States outside of the economic/welfare comparisons, and this is strictly in my view, is the lack of a true Canadian identity, and therefore we Canadians on the cutting edge of Western society and the evolution of societal values and roles, without the precondition of traditionalism.
Basically Canadians have no idea what direction the country is heading in culturally and that's what is exciting about Canada.
The Vatican is a separate nation within Italy, so it's not really in Rome, and it is not controlled by the Italian government. What most Muslim countries do has nothing really to do with Islam, but actually most Muslim countries do allow churches and have Christians, and always have. Saudi Arabia is an extreme example of a sect known as the Wahhabi sect, which is very strict and "fundamentalist" in its literal interpretations of texts. It is not indicative of the entire Sunni faith... and texts clearly indicate allowing for religious freedom in lands controlled by Muslims. I'm sure you could have preached "Jesus" in Mecca during the Ottoman Rule, is what I'm saying, Mecca is a pretty big city.
