My friends and I had a discussion myself personally I don’t think Martin really has a lot of range to do more serious roles and I think he should stick to what he knows in comedic movies.

Whether you like A Thin Line between love and Hate or not I’m not judging if you do I personally don’t think the movie that good because that type of role doesn’t fit Martin. I think they should have went with one of three guys: Will, Jamie, or Larenz Tate.

Martin showed a lot of promise in A Thin Line.... and obviously held his own on his show before the wheels fell off but his range is flat and he’s made too many head scratchers like the whole Big Momma’s House flicks, Blue Streak, Black Knight, etc.

He doesn’t have enough of a legit film or TV resume and as a stand up comedian, this shyt has past him by. It was tough getting thru his last comedy special.

I can now see why the whole gang wants to reboot “Martin” even without Tommy. But, he needs something like a Last OG type of show where it leans on his comedic aura instead of writers just handing him a script.

You trippin mane.

Martin is one of the better stand up comedian turnt actor IMO.

He was great in Life, Thin Line, Bad Boy, Boomerang, etc.

Now he has his duds like any actor - Black Knight (although a guilty pleasure for me), Blue Streak, etc.

He’s a much better actor than dudes like Chappelle or Rock to me :francis: now Chris Rock can’t act worth a damn

Im not sayin he’s bad I just think they should have chose someone else for a thin line. He doesn’t come off as a player type. I did like him in life, blue streak, big mama’s house one of course and national security. He just doesn’t come off as a serious actor

He wrote A Thin Line. That was him on his Eddie Murphy vibes. Pretty sure he picked the cast as well. Loved him in it.
