In my case it was speaking " proper" to them proper is the exact word they used. No they didn't mean the queens English but it was not using slang and pronouncing words fully etc...

I shouldn't have said never but rarely do I hear it for just not using slang. Everybody I've heard ever say somebody sounds white was because the person sounded white not because they didn't use slang and "pronounce" words fully. In your case most people, just say you were a lame or something like that but not sounding white unless they sounded white.

I can't say your lying and I won't because I wasn't there with you. I'll just say that's not the norm Ime and every time IRL somebody said that claim they also sounded like tiger woods on top of anything else.

A lot of this isn't hipster stuff. I work around hipsters, which are just young white yuppies who go out of their way to look like they don't care how they dress.
