Yeah, I got out in 2014. I was a medic. No lie, when I was recruiter I actually put in a guy as a cook that had a 99 ASVAB. He was an anti-social weirdo that wanted to be a linguist, but he bombed the DLAB. I tried to convince him to do any other job as another option, but he said he loved baking and wanted to be a 92G of he couldn't be a linguist . But most the rejects I put in were something in the 92 series, 42A, the 19 series, and the occasional 11B (infantry guys are actually smarter than most folks think, even though they do dumb shyt all the time).

My grandfather did 15yrs in the service, retired, then went to work for the VA until 2007 when he had to retire from there for cancer treatments.

Since then he's on VA disability he's at 110% disability and goes to the doctor for any little thing because he's covered. Gets a nice chunk from both retirements and his social security.

He even told me about the VA loan and is quick to call bullshyt when a veteran who was honorably discharged says the are left out in the cold after the service.

Sorry, thought you were Army. I was done at 8, mostly because of recruiting. I got selected for that shyt and wanted no parts of it, but it's impossible to get out of that bs assignment without doing something that'll hurt your career. I did one last reenlistment to pass my Post 9/11 GI Bill to my wife. Told her she had to get her degree because I already had mine and I was done moving to places I didn't choose. After recruiting got assigned to an Infantry Brigade, went to Afghanistan just to find out my unit was deactivating when we got back and it was either reup for Ft. Polk, LA , or get out a year early and get like $40,000 seperation pay for getting out early. Made my choice easy as hell, lol.

it was that... and going from germany (if any AF members been to germany you know whats up ) and going straight to wichita kansas

maybe i worded it wrong.. HE wasn't going to be the one flying... he would just be part of the crew picking up paratroopers and shyt... but he'd damn sure be on that plane.. and damn sure risking his life... and he was like fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that



edit: found it CV-22 plane... they wanted him to go from a c130 (fuel plane) to a damn war plane... he was like nah

Only way I would ever have went in, knowing that now.
Was to fly a f14 and they don't have them shyt's in the sky anymore.
