WLR came out, all the normal music listeners heard it and said it was trash
His team kept pushing and eventually it became common to say it was this amazing revolutionary work and then kids propelled him into his current position

It's close, they both have the same number of tracks I still play to this day. But to call one "amazing" and the other "trash" is a weirdo take. It'd make more sense if you just didn't like his music at all, but I don't know what the hell you hearing in Die Lit that's so much different than WLR

the problem with wlr was carti had a ton of great songs get leaked after die lit, everyone thought that's how wlr would sound and he took a hard left with it. I didn't like it for that reason but after checking his live performances I see the vision

His "core" fanbase changed completely with that album. The Cash Carti "Broke Boi" fans might not exactly like the vibe/sound of WLR.
But he somehow tapped into something bigger with the zesty thug vampire aesthetic.
