He’s damn near the premier act in rap right now after dropping one of the most disappointing highly anticipated albums I’ve seen

Usually your relevance takes a hit when you drop a trash album during your rise to stardom but he’s only gotten bigger

WLR is a classic. It took a lil while for ppl to come around to it but once they did he propelled. Plus he got Carson and Lone under him.

Ngl, Punk Monk hits totally different when you completely in your glow. I'm talking bout not a care in the world, racks in your pocket, fresh cut, whip sparkling got the tire wet on ya shyts riding down a main street with the sounds blasting on payday it's just :banderas:

Hearing the zesty thug vampire chant "Don't talk to me"

That album sucked lol

I actually grew to like Die Lit for what it was. The beats were interesting and the whole thing was cohesive even if I don't like his rap style

I think I realized that Pierre was the only reason I really fukked with him at all

Like the first reply, he appeals to emo weirdo CACs. Apparently a weird gay guy dressed like a vampire with a whale's tail sticking out who makes baby noises is considered interesting or avant-garde....

Die Lit had soooooo many throw aways. That shyt has like 10 songs out of 21 or some shyt.

Admittedly, I didn't like WLR either when it came out. Then I realized the sound was just way ahead of it's time. We applaud Future and Thug for their melodies but that whole album was a master class on melodies.

If you seek out Carti for lyrical content you're missing the point. If you go back and listen to that album in proper context it's actually better than Die Lit imo

I think mfs only rock with Die Lit because that's when they first jumped on the Carti Wave. If we're keeping it a stack the songs that are 🔥 on Die lit are better than the songs on his first album. However as a whole his first album was better if we're talking number of skippable tracks. WLR got it right with the style change and the change in length in songs.

Die Lit from a production standpoint is far any away his best album. Whole Lotta Red is the one with a massive amount of throwaways, but sounds “different”, so people fake like it’s a transcending album. That WLRDrop that sounds almost like a demo album (the one with Die Like This and Pissy Pamper) is actually better than Whole Lotta Red.

He got bigger because the album was great and as a result he got more fans and more imitators.

OP just posts to post. Casual rap fans have never heard of him, he's not the premier anything. I have never seen or heard his name on TV or offline, and most if not all of his music that makes it to noteworthy Playlists (Rap Caviar for example) are his features with bigger/known artists like Carnival (a song he ruins) :francis:
