He’s an amazing live performer, his albums are jarring at first but grow on you over time, which means it has replay-ability, and he has the youth, which means he controls the medias target audience. Kinda simple why he’s still around. He’s a prime example of when constantly reinventing yourself goes right. Kendrick does it as well, but to a lesser degree

You mean his Band is an amazing live performer. I havent seen one vid of him actually doing anything but screaming and cosplaying a vampire

And i like carti but keep it 100

The crimson I knew was always tapped in to what’s hot in the culture. This crimson getting :flabbynsick: WLR is like a modern day Yeezus but w arguably more influence. I’m not saying carti was the first to do the metal rap thing but he made it cool now everyone in the underground for the most part emulate his style and image. Even some mainstream artist tbh

Hes up there with travis in making hypnotic pseudo-rock moshpit anthems. There's some money to be made if you purely stick in that lane.

won't get a ton of radio play but kids turn out for those shows to scream and headbang and attract other kids

Punk music has always been a lane

It might disappoint you, but not a lot of teenagers.

Just like Drake been disappointing grown up men for like a decade and still bangs out like 5x platinum or whatever he does.

Not really he does the playlist game with 3 for everyone, but you get the point. People got different tastes. It sold well, for good reviews and ended up on many year end lists

Old heads strike again

Admittedly, I didn't like WLR either when it came out. Then I realized the sound was just way ahead of it's time. We applaud Future and Thug for their melodies but that whole album was a master class on melodies.

rockstar made
Stop breathing
Vamp anthem
Punk Monk
Sky

If you seek out Carti for lyrical content you're missing the point. If you go back and listen to that album in proper context it's actually better than Die Lit imo
Oh my :mjlol:

It’s not a unique opinion to be a Carti fan and think WLR is bad

I did t like it either, compared to the previous shyt. But as with artists that change styles so much, it’s expected that some won’t enjoy the new shyt.

It’s like Kanye post the three first.

It’s not like Chance who didn’t venture out, he stayed in the exact same lane and dropped a dud.
