He makes 2000s R&B

he’s very good at what he does but his style of music doesn’t have much mainstream appeal

he’s about as big as you expect someone to be with his style

and y’all have to remember that rappers don’t have R&B features anymore so these singers are only appealing to R&B fans

He did blow. Dude is very much mainstream and has multiple 100+ million view songs. :gucci:
This is thecoli where everyone is supposed to be a multi-platinum level superstar. nikkas really saying Cash Money ain't promote him right. They promoted that nikka to the full extent of his talent. Like what level of success is Jacquees really supposed to be at? He can barely sing, songwriting is mehh, and is most known for remixing other people's shyt. Despite all that he's got a gold album and 3 platinum singles.

And like @CrimsonTider said stylistically he doesn't even fit in this era. Compare the "R&B" he makes to the likes of Daniel Caesar, Giveon, HER, Masego, etc

He had momentum, but I think that whole "King of R&B" statement hurt him. That statement put new people onto him, but at the same time turned off people who checked his music out because of that statement. They just compare you to whom ever is king in their mind which creates an incredibly high standard difficult to live up to.

Cash money is washed and not a label for r&b

he’s short and not very cute so there goes the sex appeal bump

his style doesn’t match the dark moody inarticulate r&b vibe nor does he do the “nasaly, weird inflection to sound more neo souly” thing people like SZA, summer walker, and Khalid do
