I bet Jay and Nas would give Wayne his props. NOW, you can /thread or whatever
na jay looks at him like a lil nikka, thug legit tried to kill him and take his album name and thug still performs in New Orleans and is played in New Orleans clubs to this day. It's shows homie music had a time limit on it. Wayne mixtapes won't last the test of time like jay or nas classics from the 90s. A lot of Wayne best isn't even being presented to the youth caude a lot of people transitioning to streaming services like apple, and they don't carry mixtapes.

Mixtape freestyles, just will be forgotten in the grand scheme of things, nikkaz still sampling jayZ songs from 97(Wayne included), nobody will be sampling track 5 off decdication.

Mixtapes turning into fully orginial music will hurt his legacy big time, why would I listen to freestyles when I can hear a mixtape wit original content like "so far gone" ect.

Wayne can't sell out the uno arena in New Orleans

I think it's because of the change of attitude in hip-hop. Wayne is still seen as a new rapper and is amongst artist and fans where titles don't mean shyt to them. To someone like me who remebers seeing 15 year old wayne in Cash Money videos I know he was around for a while. But also wasn't hot till about 05 06 , he was one of the weaker members of Cash Money

Smileys won't help your argument :heh:

Here are the facts: some people consider Carters 1-3 as classics. Some don't. You can't accept that , so I'm not sure why you're going back and forth :ld:

Some consider at least 1 or 2 of them, some think that all 3 are.. You said that in order for someone to think that all 3 are classics then they must be stans :mjlol:

Then you said that a person has to be "a real hip hop head" for you to take their opinion serious :dead:

I never said the general consensus was that people thought that 1-3 were all classics. Please quote be where I said those exact words :beli:

:mjlol: what is this supposed to mean then

Carter 1-3 are all classics. Why do people try to rewrite history :why:

:laff::laff::laff::laff: just stop, youre embarrassing yourself

:laff: claim other people are rewriting history but then rewrite history brehs

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Wayne is 33 years old and house been mainstream since the 90's

At 33 HOV had dropped the black album and was looked at as elite amongst his peers and already was a legend.

At 33 nas dropped hiphop was dead, he was also hiphop royalty and a legend amongst his peers.

Wayne has had just as much commercial success for about the same amount of time as them, so how come he doesn't he doesn't have that elite, legend, hiphop royalty aura around him like nas and HOV?
Cause he fell off in every way possible

At this point his album releases should be sought after. They aren't. His last nobody cared about. The south included.

He should be getting hit up for features. On some big tour. When you see him, it should be major. But it isn't. Cause he's still seen as lil wayne. That nikka that used to be nice. That nikka that baby is fukking for all his dough. That high ass nikka that don't seem coherent in interviews. That nikka that used to be hot

Drake is lapping this nikka. Imagine bleek or jungle lapping Jay or nas. Never happen. Imagine them nikkas coming off looking broke, doing club dates, and dropping albums that nobody cares about

And even then, their eras are about 5-10 years apart

He's a Hov stan, as a grown man and superstar himself I don't think that shyt is whats poppin :dame:

edit: he's also getting chumped out of his check right now and I just couldn't see that happening to a Jay Z or Nas, but if it comes down to artistry and what he's done for hip hop's influence in the world he's definitely on par with both of them and may have actually passed Nas

Wayne from the south..you know how that go :beli:

we got multiplatinum, landscape changing albums and songs down here that get called "regional" classics

we got rappers and labels with 5 year runs that get the
large.gif

treatment when brought up in historical context next to labels and rappers from other places with similar and sometimes substantially less success/impact....

:stopitslime:/:mjcry:

His day coming tho...He put in so much work mid 2000s, give it time...the next generation will speak on him like one of the heavyweights..they low key do already and the influence is clear as shyt for better or worse

but we also have to account for the fact that HOV especially controlled the narrative to make himself the big homie.. Nas aint as boisterous with it but his influence on the birthplace was going to etch his stone in hip hop regardless...Wayne's influence just wont be as respected cause other nikkas basically took the worst parts of him and made them even worse..so instead of being respected as a nikka that made "The Mobb"...they look at him as "Me and My Drank" :wow:

all the trash Hov and Nas dropped is swept under the rug cause their classics are more revered and aggrandized

and wayne's increasing lack of maturity doesnt help..like other brehs have said, he desperately needed a "grown man" era

chill with that "Hov controlled the narrative" shot:ufdup:....Hov was always seen as a boss as owner of rocafella, and carried himself as such since he blew....i think Wayne couldve had that elder statesman treatment with Nicki and Drake being on YM,but it quickly became revealed he aint actually a boss with that shyt:francis:

i think with legacy putting people on,and having proteges that pick up where you left off does alot for you....Gucci Mane aint makin grown man music but gets that big homie nod,as does Ross...neither of which had a 10th of the success as Wayne, nor can compete with his classic count.....theres more than one way to get that nod,Nas and Jay aint gettin that nod for all the same reasons either.

1. i aint reading all that :dame:
2. no shots at Hov...its Pac... then him...then everybody else as far as im concerned..and im of the opinion that he controlled his narrative..thats not a diss statement, its a real statement...its chess moves..its why he's Hov..The Black Album and everything surrounding it was Hov controlling the narrative. You cant respect that, ya whole perspective is wack :yeshrug:

Because he looks and acts like a junkie. Junkies only get attention when they are doing something crazy in the moment, but once they do it, it's discussed for maybe a day or week later.

crackhead-back-flip.gif

But lookin back, he was just a junkie.

Nas and Jay-z were never crossdressing drug addicts riding skateboards and kissing men in the mouth while claiming a gang after they were already millionaires, that's probably why. In short, he's a clown, Nas and Jayz are not.
