I think it's similar to why black women go to the hair salon. Part of it is conditioned in us like some you aren't good enough unless.... And part of it is vanity. Slightly a little culture if you actually frequent black hair salons and barbershops.

And the simple answer, some men just like nice shape ups....

Whaaaa. We have 100 page threads clowning on Bron and Boozer for their hairline problems and you think it's whites that are the issue here? Blacks make other blacks insecure about that shyt. I still remember not having a fresh line in HS was asking all the wolves to come out and chop like no tomorrow. In the corporate world, you just have to look clean and good. How sharp your edge up isn't a big of a deal to these 50 year old corporate managers.

Looking "clean and good" includes getting a shape up though, right? For black men that is. I'm not denying that other black people ridicule black men, though. That's one of the first points I made. It does seem to be getting certain posters in their feelings that I wouldn't leave it at that, though.
