Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
At least in Living Single, three of the four principal actors were actually from the city or area.

Kim Coles is a Brooklyn native.

Kim Fields is a Harlem native.

Queen Latifah is from Newark/East Orange -- 20 minute NJ Transit ride west from Penn Station in midtown.

i honestly still can’t tell the difference between a Newark/Jersey City accent vs NYC. I guess it all comes down to the words and lingo.

Arsenal sounds like he could be from any Borough. The same with Albee AL and

Everyone has an accent. LA, Chicago, Dallas/Houston, NOLA, Memphis, St. Louis, ATL, Miami, NYC/NJ, Philly, DC etc.

Only one I'm not as sure about is Detroit. Gotta hear more people from there talk to pin it down. Jalen Rose is the only one that comes to mind, maybe Jerome Bettis.
They do also .J dilla, Big sean Tee Grizzley, and Danny Brown when he uses his regular voice all have strong detroit accents.

VA
DC def has a accent. When I used to goto VSU and was dealing with them DC nikkas. It stood out. Matter of fact. It made all our accents show.

DC. Maryland. South Philly. 757 nikkas. Southern Va nikkas. Brooklyn nikkas . Bronx nikkas. shyt we even had a mix of Cali bytches and Chicago . First time I met a Chicago , I was like why the fukk you sound like from the deep south.

North Jerz and South Jersey so different.

Back when I was in Va. All the Baltimore girls had that different color braid shyt going on. Or was that DMV shyt?

Coming from a rural part of VA, all these mufukkas have distinct accents. I'm not 100% on Jersey accents, but for the most part I was in college, I could make out where folks were from.

What part of NYC are The Wayans from ? I remember someone say they were from Harlem, but there was an episode where Marlon shouts out his old high school, which is in Whitestone.

The 718
Young Will Smith had a slight Philly accent, but he’s super educated and grew up in a good household so his vernacular always been on point. It’s pretty much gone at this point.

Celeb wise I’d say Eve and Kev Hart have the typical Philly accent.

Watching interviews like this, it's really obvious that dude had a future as an actor even way back then. Ridiculously articulate and charismatic for an 18 year old.

Listen to 42 dugg, tee grizzley or peezy. They have what I call the "modern" detroit accent lol.

But detroit like most cities in the midwest is kind of all over the place when it comes to accents. At least when it comes to African americans.
