How come actors don't have nyc accents(Eddie Murphy)

Me and my friends decided to make that jump and travel up there this past July lol. It was a shyt ton of people and it felt a lil weird swimming with a mask on. Yooooo I had the sweetest tasting pretzels with cream cheese icing I’ve ever had in my life at Hershey’s Park I’m usually a majog sweet tooth person but that icing shyt was kicking my ass lmaoooo

Also, I was highkey shocked at how chocolate and caramel Harrisburg actually looked Even down to the architecture and layout, the city looked and felt like a miniature version of Philly frfr

alot of those small PA cities have a lot of Blacks and Latinos (mostly Ricans and Dominicans)

Everyone has an accent. LA, Chicago, Dallas/Houston, NOLA, Memphis, St. Louis, ATL, Miami, NYC/NJ, Philly, DC etc.

Only one I'm not as sure about is Detroit. Gotta hear more people from there talk to pin it down. Jalen Rose is the only one that comes to mind, maybe Jerome Bettis.

Detroit sounds like a mix between Bay Area with a touch of Southern but they don’t really sound country tho, especially compared to Chicago, STL, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati

Martin Lawrence definitely had a D.C accent in his early days. You can hear it on Def Jam and you so crazy when he pronounced words like Married( Murried) and he'd over emphasize words that endes in TH with and breath (wiff, breaff)

At least in Living Single, three of the four principal actors were actually from the city or area.

Kim Coles is a Brooklyn native.

Kim Fields is a Harlem native.

Queen Latifah is from Newark/East Orange -- 20 minute NJ Transit ride west from Penn Station in midtown.
