How can you justify saying Messi is better than Ronaldo?

When I was talking about construction workers I was referring to his club competition, mf was playing "Juventus"
Not the Juventus in Italy though, Brazilian lower division teams that just took names of top European clubs.
And none of that changes the fact that he played in an era where defense basically didn't even exist, and he was never the best player in any of the World Cups he won, in some he wasn't even the best on his team!
Dude was probably the greatest of his time, but his legacy has been mythologized on some Paul Bunion shyt
Because a bunch of legends were overly nostalgic everybody considers it law that he was the GOAT, so much so that they say that shyt without ever having seen him play

Who was the best player in 70, if it wasn't Pele? Jairzinho may of got the goals, but everything ran thru Pele.

Pele was basically doing what Messi is doing today, scorer and creator, but with C dot athleticism.

Besides the goal celebration of the final. Pele has like 4-5 other iconic moments, just from that World Cup and none of them are goals.

The dummy vs the Uruguay keeper.
The shot from the half way line vs Czechoslovak (I think it was)
The Banks save
The assist.
The swapping of shirts with Moore.

Didn't Gerd Müller win the golden boot in 1970? Either way I might give him 70, like you said their offense ran through them
1962 he hardly even played and he wasn't the best in 1958
Great move but he missed

Yeah Muller won the golden boot, but he was just a poacher. And Jairzinho scored in every game, the only player to ever do so. No ones ever claimed Pele was the best player in 1958, but that is when his star was born. And even then he has a winner vs Wales, a hattrick in the semis and his iconic flick over goal in the final, but 1970 is Pele's world cup.

Didi, Vava and Little Bird the best players in 58 and 62 is the Little Birds world cup.

Winning the World Cup doesn’t make you the GOAT:martin:
Is Griezemann better than Messi now too? Is Olivier Giroud better than Ronaldo cause he won a WC?
One of those (I think 1962) Pele was injured and Garrincha was the man
He was never even top goalscorer in any of those competitions
Pele was playing with construction workers in Brazil
Never played on top flight clubs in Europe
Some of those games he played Santos was winning 10-0, 11-0, Pele having 5 goals in one game
No defense was played whatsoever
I mean dude even counts friendlies in his goal total:mjlol:
People who say Pelé is the GOAT just do so cause everybody else does
You’ve never even seen him play, all your knowledge of him is from YouTube highlights
dude hella people today are objectively better than Pele was. That's not how you determine who's the GOAT. You gotta look at how dominant the player was at the time he was playing in and how good he was compared to his peers. The game has evolved so much since then. 45 years ago the whole world was :gladbron: at a Cruyff turn :mjlol: Pele was only 17 during the 58' world cup :wow:

Without Messi, Argentina played eight matches in qualifying. They won one. They scored 0.75 goals per game. They lost to Ecuador, Paraguay and Bolivia. They drew with Venezuela. Tata Martino was sacked and so was his successor, Edgardo Bauza.

With Messi, Argentina played ten matches and only lost one (to Brazil in Belo Horizonte). They beat Chile twice, Uruguay and trounced Colombia 3-0 in San Juan. In 10 games, Messi scored seven goals (including the all-important hat-trick against Ecuador to secure Argentina’s World Cup place). How important were Messi’s goals? For comparison’s sake, Argentina’s strike force of Gonzalo Higuain, Sergio Aguero, Mauro Icardi, Dario Benedetto, Lucas Pratto and Lucas Alario combined for three goals over the two-year cycle.

Casuals :russ::camby:

Ronaldo was out there with Pepe and an off-the-bench Quaresma. He'd have loved to play with Tevez, Mascherano, Higuain, Aguero, Otamendi, Dybala, etc.

If ronaldo wins the champions league with juventus and plays an important role and main role he is better. He would have proven himself in england, spain and italy the toughest leagues and he has proven himself for portugal by winning the euros. Messi has yet to perform for argentina and win.

Wherever whores go.....
Stay in the topic of LeBron and his sinking Lakers. CR7 led 2 La Liga in 9 years, joined MU at their best time, then move to Juventus that winning consecutive domestic doubles. Are you trying to act like he joined a mid-table team. :russ:

Both are Great Players with different style of play

These people acting like Juventus doesn’t have a stacked squad :dead: They went to the UCL final just 2 years ago

finishing wise you can argue either way but Messi is on pace to have more than Ronaldo at the same age

but as playmaker Messi is leaps and bounds better than Ronaldo its not even close
