I think the stigma is different, and the fact that intelligence is associated with being white displays a bigger problem in our community.

The biggest problem in our community when it comes to anti-intellectualism is that being educated benefits us less then it does anyone else. So the reality for a lot of poor blacks is that crime and fukkery are a better idea than school.

Doesn't matter who won.

Being highly educated was seen as a negative for the most important job in the country.

That should tell you all you need to know about anti-intellectualism in this country

How does that make any sense when so many modern (in the last 60 years) presidents were highly educated.

That's because we don't own our businesses anymore.
If we had more ownership, we would feel more like we're working rather than being worked.

There's need to be a greater sense of financial literacy in our community, first and foremost. Focus on consuming products that appreciate over time instead of short term trends, that'll be worth less than half in the future.

There are more black business owners now than there have been in a long time, maybe forever. That has nothing to do with the fact that minorities are not compensated for their hard work/education as much as white folks

I don't think making good grades or being bright is associated with whiteness in our community....Its having varying tastes in music, fashion, cinema, which can be culture driven sometimes.....If a brother likes death metal and wears skater clothes and watches sci fi, he might get that label....But if a brother makes all As and gets a 34 on his ACT and is the captain of his B Ball team, he's not gonna get that label

Not really. The reason bush was elected was because he was "the candidate people wanted to have a beer with" it wasn't because he was seen as highly intellectual.

I got tagged in this thread by @Serious

I look through the thread for his contribution and see none. I assume your lack of contribution is because you're not a black male correct?
So my next question is why are you even in this thread?
My other question is why you tagged me..
