How bad did Google+ flopped?

They marketed it wrong from the jump. Remember when you had to have an invite for the longest? I'll be honest I was interested at first but after a few months of no access I just said "fukk it" and never looked back.

As a social network, it flopped but as a business tool, not so much. I can have a group meeting via google hangout with my office, you can have seminars etc.

G+ is the best social site around. Its more of a twitter competitor than face book. Its not a site thats filled with your friends and family. Verge mobile does their podcast using google hangout along with many other blog sites. The android community has 100k active member and nexus community has 50k users.

it didnt flopped its still a very young site. G+ is where all the dads and moms are. Photographers flock to G+ and techies because of the strong content. Facebook is where all the kids are at.

Active users is a subjective number. Every company has its own rules governing what they consider an active user. I use my Google Account to authenticate myself for posting on some sites. I'd be willing to guess that somehow I'm "active".

Also "in the stream" I can be active in the stream without ever actually visiting google plus. By just giving apps permission to use my google plus account for authentication (like the google App Store) and giving access to my stream.

99% of the google plus accounts I see are abandoned or the person doesn't even know they have it.

Look at the users and number of comments....it matches face book IMO. G+ kills facebook with communities, events, photos, content, hangout and Mobile app

this graph is extremely misleading as everyone with a gmail/youtube/andriod/google account has a Google+ account.

It puts into perspective how much of a failure G+ is and the main reason is the same reason google-branded phones are not the best selling phones -

Google doesn't market its products aggressively. They expect the public to just use them and realize they are better.

Honestly, they were extremely lucky in becoming the #1 search engine in the world. It was more about how bad the competitors were than how good google was.
