Houston has a melting pot of different ethnic foods here one of them being the best damn Mexican food you can buy north of the border.

Chi has what? Pizza & weiners? :mjlol: Ive been to the Chi at least 30 times and you cant find anything outside of sausages with salad on top of them and italian food in that city. :yeshrug:

and chicago isnt???:dahell::mindblown:

I lived in the Chicago area and have experience in Houston. Both are equally diverse and are melting pots. They are pretty much on even ground here and neither is that much more than the other. Chicago is easily the better food city. But you will get better BBQ and cajun/creole food in Houston. If you like a walkable, vibrant, energetic city that basically has everything at your feet without needing a car for most activities, large events in parks, etc, you pick Chicago. It's one of the most urban cities in the nation. If you want a calmer, diverse, integrated (well not as segregated as Chicago), don't mind a car, rapidly growing and changing suburban in nature type city, you choose Houston. Personally, if you choose to live inside the loop, you will be fine. I have no use for most of Houston outside the loop plus Galleria. Everything outside of the loop is pretty much mundane everyplace USA boring suburbia. Most of everything anyone likes to do is inside the loop.

Oh and Houston winters> Chicago winters but Chicago summers> Houston summers.

A lot of The Coli believes everything in the media and many despite what they say, aren't well traveled
I'm well traveled breh, I've probably been to more countries than states. I live in the midwest but never been to the south besides Florida tho. I've been to Chicago several times but I always get that claustrophobic big city feel like NY or London, especially in any of the areas worth being. As far as city layouts I actually fukks with the Florida type model even tho things might be more spread out.

They are beginning to build many apartment complexes out in West/Southwest Houston that aren't as expensive due to the new medical centers out here.

Can't speak on the Woodlands as much.:manny:
Plus with Westpark Tollroad you can get to downtown in 20 minutes in light traffic:ehh:

Those schools will still be there when OP is old enough to want a family tho and he can move out to the West side when he's ready:manny:
:whoa: Not trynna raise a family an shyt just yet breh. Even tho I'm almost 26:flabbynsick:
This is a 2 year school related stint but who knows I might fukk around and stay depending on how it goes.
Never lived in the south before but the prospect of driving where I need to is actually a plus seeing as how that's I get around now in MN.
Yea some of the apts I was looking @ on the west side were like $6-$800 and they were NICE

My mom n her fam grew up there back in the 70s n 80s, she spoke highly of it :mjcry:. She did say the crack epidemic n shyt made it progressively get worse tho
My cousins lived there. There's really nothing even positive I can say about it. I'd rather live in Broadview before I live in Maywood.

Chicago cost of living is actually much closer to Houston than it is to say the Bay, LA, New York, Boston, and DC. In fact, Chicago is a bargain if you prefer that type of lifestyle I talked about. And Houston is cheap in the suburbs and mostly outside the loop. Inside the loop and the galleria with those new apartments are going to cost you a grip. Something like 1800 per month for 1 bedrooms.

Get that Baja style shyt outta here :camby::camby::camby::camby:

Again please answer the question, the Chi has italian food, salad topped weiners, and?.......

Houston has New Orleans transplants, a serious ass Vietnamese population, and the most diverse population which brings with it their ethnic foods as well.
Bruh why do you clown ass nikkas keep saying this :mjlol:

Houston is 50% mexican, fuc outta here with that most diverse city bullshyt.

And you're obviously a stan, who df prefers Tex-Mex over authentic mexican food besides cacs :laff:

So how about you answer this

besides good chinese food, wtf does houston do GREAT? Cuz Tex-Mex is :trash: and theres good BBQ spots everywhere

Definitely agree bout the cost of living been underrated in Chicago especially considering it's the 3rd largest city in the US. It's actually on par with where I'm currently at (twin cities) despite being a much larger city.

Is 6-800 reasonable for a 1bd on the west side tho? Not downtown or the galleria from what I understand

You want a clean, secure, apt complex? It's going to cost you. some dudes I work with live in Jersey Village and they pay 1300 for a two bedroom, and I wouldn't exactly call it nice, but it's decent.

If want to say near the medical center or the energy corridor it's going to cost you, guess why, the people who work in those places can afford it. Also a lot of corporate leases in that area,

You need to google map Houston , put in the address of where you'll be working. Then search for apartment prices.

If it's cheap then it's probably somewhere you don't want to live.

FWIW I don't live here I just work here.

Yeah agree with TNOT. What's the address or the general area? If you want a nice apartment in the middle of lots to do, it's going to cost you and again, most of those apartments are in the loop or the galleria.

Those are decent prices in a decent area. I would live there

Prices have gone down a good bit since this time last year . At least 200 a month. You can think low oil prices for that.

50% Mexican is way over-exaggerated and Chicago BBQ pretty much blows. There's lots of authentic Mexican spots all over Houston. Top food cities are NY, SF, Chi, and LA. Houston is in that next tier.
