*Just watched both seasons over the last two weeks or so. I like the show, I wouldn't say I love it. Even though it is highly entertaining, a number of things leave me with the
expression.
I generally like anti-heroes. It's a welcome departure from the conventional hero arch. And in the first season I was certainly rooting for the Underwood clan. By the end of season 2, I hated them and wanted them to get their comeuppance. There is literally nothing redeeming about them, so I'm ready for the fall.
I don't have a problem with Frank ultimately getting his "way." I just wish it wasn't at the expense of everyone that surrounds him (besides Claire) basic cognitive abilities. Truly, I do believe most people are dumb; but, the level of ineptness displayed by Frank's coterie is fukking mind blowing. At some point it's just like:
*Nobody besides Linda (president's ex chief of staff) can see dude is pulling the strings and on some Sith lord, chancellor Palpatine tip?
When Walker was telling that anecdote about Mayweather and he told Frank he sees that punching bag as calculation, and ran down how he had played him, I was like
. Then, when he had Frank's ass to the fire, he let him off the hook over a letter like Frank is Yeats or some shyt. Still holding phone conversations with dude talking about, "Yeah, we need to see how this impeachment thing is going to go." Meanwhile, Frank is on some, "Sure thing, boss
," shyt.
*Zoe needed to be killed, because she was fukking dumb as well. She fully knew what Frank was capable of (or at least suspected it) and she showed up to a meeting with him in a fukking train station, whilst Frank showed up dressed like Carmen Sandiego and shyt. It was obvious he was going to lay the murder game down.
*I hate how Freddy got done. He just wanted to make the world a better place via barbecue.
* I liked season one more than more than two. Season one was more "feasible." Season two had more far-fetched scenarios, wild cards, etc. that Frank couldn't have possibly anticipated, but somehow finagled his way out of.
I guess I'll start Orange is the New Black.
