Hot take: The 80s were the real peak era for X-men, not the 90s (comic-wise).

You can tell who was reading the 80s comics versus who was reading the late 90s early 00s comics, based on their view of cyclops.

80s era(goat) cyclops was a square teachers pets nerd. the newer shyt tried to make him into a cac malcolm x/magneto light.
the movies for the most part have stayed true to his 80s persona. which i prefer because it makes his interaction with wolverine funnier,

80s DC was just as legendary.

Hell, the 80s was the GOAT decade as a comic book stan
Yep too much heat going on underground comics like TMNT, crisis on infinite earths, DC graphic novels, secret wars, daredevil, the entire amazing/spectacular Spider-Man 80s storylines were:whew:probably the most influential era of spider man outside of the stan lee/ultimate era, I'm forgetting a lot more but comic book fans were eating in the 80s-1993

The first two episodes of X-men '97 just dropped.
Notice how...
They're leaning heavily into the 80s storylines like Lifedeath, the Trial of Magneto, and Inferno.
