at the very least Wu has two undisputed classics in 36 Chambers & Cuban Linx. Then they have 2 more cult classics in Liquid Swords & SC. Throw Ironman & Dirty in the mix and it gets ugly.


Cash Money have exactly ZERO classic albums. None. Not even the 4XPlat 400 Degrees.

I like wutang but I think a lot of their fans kinda turn me away from their music sometimes.

that's what i have been saying. the production is indistinguishable from album to album. it's fun stuff but not groundbreaking or classic. It's good fast food. its the In N Out burger of hip hop. lol.

wutang's artists had their own styles and their albums were different from each other, yes. BUT NOT VASTLY.

the same exact thing could be said for cash money. bg's chit didn't sound like juvi's. they didn't sound like Wayne's joints. and they didn't sound like turk's.

I actually do. But honesty I think The infamous is better than both the albums you named and illmatic also. I dont think rza's beats are all that. I respect how he changes them up during the song etc but the melodies are often very weak. So he'll change from weak melody to another weak one. I'm not impressed. I think its crazy people mention him along side dre,manny,quik etc. They're way better. I think ghost and raekwon are far from special rappers. Both have very below avg flows and nikkas give them passes for it. I mean god awful flows. I like Jealous ones envy better than iron man and OB4CL also.

The Infamous is better than anything Wu related. It's the GOAT.

Rae and Ghost are both talented and both developed tremendously following the release of Illmatic and the focus on lyricism that came from that lyrical masterpiece.

Not sure what you consider flow if you thought they're flows we're god awful on their solos. Ghost was rather simple on 36.

RZA far surpasses Mannie and Quik. But production is subjective. I'd say it was too raw for you, but you like Infamous, which is raw dog.

I think all the production tends to run into eachother on those albums. I recall the big tymers being a bit more lively and melodic than a chopper city but for the most part it was lighthearted grooves or the dark keyboard stuff.


Rza's shyt is too hip hop for Mannie & Beowolf to see.

stuff like the bolded always irks the hell out of me. in reality, mannie & beowolf are much more in line with the original hip-hop than RZA. hip-hop was built off partying. theres like less than a handful of RZA beats with any actual party value. the rza isn't hip-hop.

dog, you can just look at juvenile's cash money catalog. every single album he dropped sounds different.

sure the production is gonna run into each other seeing that its all coming from the same producer. like it or not, the production on those wu records tend to run into each other as well.
