This been the hardest one yet for me. I'd have to get rid of The Chronic tho.

like dr dre didn't have warren g, daz, and D.O.C. Helping him put together the chronic

:francis:

Anyways I picked the chronic.

im talking bout its reception, not how it was made. the idea of a gangsta rapper was already getting played by the time biggie came around granted he was nice with the lyrics but puff and them will tell you ready to die was them tryna recreate the chronic for the east. plus his whole wordrobe, fk was that? that shyt wasnt organic breh. was forced on us by arista and east coast dikk riding critics.

and when i say put together by commitee i dont just mean artists, i mean that shyt was like whan a politician poll tests an opinion before he put out his position. every song seemed like it was designed for a specific demographic. whereas these other abums was just people who put they whole life into the music, fk how it was recieved. just happened the people was feeling it.

Ready To Die :yeshrug: it is what it is.

The other 3 shifted the culture, Ready to Die didn't.
ready to die to me is a forced classic. that shyt was never organic like the other 3. that not to take abything away from big who remains a great mc, but that shyt was put together by comittee.

these are the type of post that makes the internet something that should never be taken seriously

The other 3 shifted the culture, Ready to Die didn't.
:what:
  • the chronic - besides warren g & i really cant think of anyone using the g funk
  • 36 chambers -when has a large group of solo mc's debut together thereafter going solo???
  • illmatic - took home R2D listen, studied shyt now on some money shyt
i dont know what world u could live in with your statement
if anything ready 2 die shifted hip hop more the. them 3 combined
cause R2D became the formula of making a hip hop albums in the 90's

forced classic....that shyt was never organic like the ....but that shyt was put together by comittee
:what:

  • the chronic - as already stated, damn near every song has an guest appearance on it (is not a committee)
  • 36 chambers -so 9 solo artists coming together on an album (is not a committee)
  • illmatic -exec produce pete nice whom got the best/top producers to all come together to be apart if this new great mc (is not a committee)

that committee shyt, u got it backwards & that force claasic shyt makes zero sense too when it out sold & got more radio, vid, spins then the 36 & ill

I wouldn't want to get rid of any of them. Ready To Die definitely not going anywhere though, I'm not sure where the trend of trying to downplay Biggie has come from, unfortunate to me but everyone's entitled to their opinion. I don't know what the answer is, because I fukk with all the albums heavy.

The Chronic. Easy choice.

Can't do without Warning, Things Done Changed and Gimme the Loot

Chronic was the soundtrack to an entire era/generation..

Ready to Die was a forced, poorly done copy cat east coast version of Chronic.

& the answer is 36Chambers... Made the least impact, production was ehhh, replay value is bad, and the sound doesn't hold up today
