Ismail Guelleh in Djibouti can’t be happy about this either. This would take business away from the Djibouti port which is where Ethiopia has been doing its imports and exports.

He convened both Hassan Sheikh and Bihi for talks recently.

Ethiopia is not a super power, like all third world countries, they depend on foreign aid
plus they're going through number of ethnic civil wars as we speak
they do not have the means or funds to indefinitely occupy Somalias territory

China has always sided with Somalia, while Somaliland have been in bed with Taiwan recently.

We know that China and Ethiopia are now together in Bric.

I don't think Ethiopia will do anything to hinder their relationship with China, also the Arab league (which Somalia is part of) has said time and time again that they respect Somalia's territorial integrity.

Keep in mind, it is only the Somaliland side that said Ethiopia will recognize them (no confirmation from the Ethiopia side ever agreeing to that).

lol, overthrowing the monarchy was stupid as fukk in hindsight. Governance in Ethiopia has been way more trash ever since. The revolution was a failure and its subsequent heirs have also failed.

But Abiy being a fraud isn’t that surprising, he was the enemy of my enemy during the Tigray fiasco but as slimey as he is it might be time to call into question even that situation. The thing I found suspicious from the beginning was that he was portrayed as some change agent when he’s a part of the same govt people were protesting.

At the end of the day, there’s a lot of political immaturity and miseducation and most of the elites and intellectuals have no real interest in doing what’s right.

I kinda think he’s not serious too. Right now he doesn’t have that kinda support to be warring with anyone. A lot more people in the country are sick of his shyt. He’s got his hands full with the Amharas, Oromo extremists are kidnapping people for ransom, traveling outside of Addis is dangerous compared to the Woyane days, his mandate looking shaky.

I think people are just tired of the constant turnover in leadership. But Abiy is anxious to get in bed with the West.
