I agree with this but my twist is that we should strive for more "black suburbs" so to speak.The hood isn't a place that should be glorified. People should strive to get out of it. When I used to volunteer at the rec center. Teens talking about their "hood" I would ask them where does your favorite athlete or rapper live? They would look at me with blank stares. I would say I'll give you one guess. It's NOT THE HOOD!
So if the hood is so great, why don't they live there? The kids really had nothing to say. I encouraged them to get education or a trade that is in demand. Move far away from the hood.
