Honestly, how the hell is the 2-3-2 format really a home court advantage?

2-3-2 has nothing to do with on court basketball.

NBA is a GLOBAL sport. Media from everyone travel for the finals.

2-2-1-1-1 would be too much travel for the media/execs. 2-3-2 makes it simple yet fair for both teams and media have a more detailed and not as unpredictable travel plan.

It's a big advantage if yu win your first two games that means that the other team has to win their series clinching win on the road. This year that wasn't the case.

You got the best two teams in the league, more than likely they're gonna split the first two games, and no series is ever really won until the middle of it which gives the "lesser" team the real home court advantage. Majority of the time ur not getting to a game 7 to make it really pay off.

all about the green dollar my man

google it

baseball is the same way I think and no one complains

the argument of "it doesnt usually go to 7 games" is retarded honestly.

the whole point of home court advantage is to get the last 7th game at home.
if it doesnt go all 7, then you dont get it :manny:

home court advantage is a tiebreaker kind of deal. if you notice, a 2-3-2 format still guarantees complete fair and square setup through the first four games. and if those four games are split, you are guaranteed a trip back home :manny:

nikka just read this

An Historic Look At The NBA Finals’ 2-3-2 Format | Thunder Rumblings

stats dont lie. the team with HCA has a huge advantage. FACT /thread

The biggest advantage the team with HCA has is that they're typically the better team. So no shyt the HCA team usually wins the series.

2-2-1-1-1 is a much better format. 2-3-2 just creates more pressure for teams to win their home games. It's unnecessary. Ex: Home team has to win the first two or they're facing possible road elimination.

If I'm the home team no way I want to play 3 straight road games at any point. If I'm the away team no way I want both games 6 snf 7to be on the road.

If you want to call yourself a championship team, you have to win on the road period.

End of story.

Cant' believe this thread went 5 pages. What is so hard to understand about a simple concept? The same way that the first two games are likely to be split is the same way that the road team is likely to win one of the middle 3 games. HCA doesn't truly come into play unless it goes 7 in any series. All HCA means is that if you win all your home games you win the series. Once you lose one at home you lose HCA. Seems simple enough.

salty Kobe stans are getting more and more pathetic. Their idol is irrelevant and forgotten, so they have to big him up somehow.
They should be quiet this time of the year, but instead they're starting threads belittling other teams (Heat, OKC), players (Lebron, Wade, Durant, Westbrook) or the NBA in general (refs, Stern, series formats)... all that with the goal of keeping their team's name out there. It seems to be a natural progression after the embarrassing MJ comparisons, they now have to attack the new generation to protect their idol.
Beyond pathetic :pachaha:

The format is inferior to the 2-2-1-1-1 regardless of people's motivation for pointing it out. 2-3-2 has also been on some :wtf: shyt.
