lol such a dumb comment. It’s pointless to argue. The game evolves, but Demar was inspired by guys from the 90s.

Can’t just take nikkas and throw them 20 years in the past. shyt don’t work that way
The irony of this statement :mjlol:

If Demar played in the 1990s with the exact same style he plays today you dummies would be singing his praises. You'd be the same cats talking about how you can't compare X player today to Demar because of xyz.

Those guys weren't very good. The league had better wings in the 1980s and the 2000s, the 1990s was a uniquely bad era for wing talent. Demar would be held in much higher regard if he was able to play in that era.

25K points and a game low -21 as Kings blow a 19pt lead to the 10 seed Bulls :wow: Billy D benched Buzelis for Philips in 2nd half and DeMar couldn't score on a good perimeter defender like usual. 22 points on 22 shots and game low -21 as he totals 25K career points. There ain't a better way to describe this low impact player than this :russ: put up all em points but ain't doin shyt out there :pachaha:

Would you dare disrespect a player from the 70s, 80s, 90s etc like this for reaching that milestone?

Here's a list of players from the distant past that have hit 25+k points over their respective careers:

Cap
Malone
Kobe
MJ
Dirk
Wilt
Shaq
Moses
Hayes
Dream
Big O
Nique
Duncan
Pierce
Havlicek
KG
Vince
English
Reggie
West.

Now, just imagine if someone created a thread now and laughed at any one of those players for reaching 25k and shytted on them for any perceived lack of success.

Do you think that thread would be met with daps and laughs?

If your answer is no, then why the need to shyt on DeRozan's achievement?

Regardless of how non-conducive you think his style of play is towards winning, the man is 15+ years deep into his career and is still an effective scorer, and doesn't look out of place in the league despite many players of his time who've either become role players or are no longer in the league.

Averaging 22 points on above league-average efficiency, at 35, is pretty damn remarkable if you ask me.

Exactly. These guys don't know ball.

I'm not saying Demar is the greatest of anywhere near the greatest, but alot of guys put up numbers but never had any iconic playoff runs or titles. Look at Adrian Dantley, Detroit got rid of him and got a ring same way Toronto got rid of DeRozan and won. Alex English, Bernard King etc etc. all good players but not top 50 guys.IMO you put up 20k points in the NBA you are an all time great, especially if you dominated the mid range.

It's a lot easier to score today.

Points are a lot cheaper in this era.

The NBA literally changed all of their rules to encourage more offense

DeMar is the wrong player to make this argument with. He doesn't play with much pace or take a lot of 3s

Look at all those names ya listed then look at DeMar.... They all bonafide HOF 1st ballot which he shouldn't be, almost all of em all time greats that showed up for they team in playoff. He don't belong in that company at all when it comes to greatness shouldn't even be in same sentence. Seein DeMar in 25k club today is like a decade ago when we'd be seein Antawn Jamison in the 20k club lol

Closest to DeMar is Alex English. And English was a better more efficient player who actually showed up in the playoffs. DeMar is arguably the worst playoff performer.... In NBA history. That ain't no exaggeration he could only impact the game wit scorin but in playoffs he would get his shyt clamped every year and statistically his teams were even better without him in the playoffs and would win series DESPITE him and his awful performances.

That's the whole point of the thread. He finna keep scorin em points, bounce round more teams maybe. At best hope for a 9/10 seed if he the team best player now that both conferences are strong and it not the garbage Least he was in Toronto. Keep pilin up points, shyt might even hit 30k and end of the day he ain't impactin shyt for his teams when it matter especially in the playoffs.
