a lot of posters telling on themselves
Either they are sheltered or they have never been outside like that
Its like they think homeless people are your average citizen and demonizing them with arrest records or mental health issues is gonna justify the murder

Newsflash being homeless is a mentally degrading thing
Add into the fact you are likely underfed or starving

Most of them love going to prison and get petty assault charges because they can't take being out on the street anymore

Why would I care how many times a homeless person has been arrested? If you understand what that life precludes you towards you know prison and hospital stays are like brief respites for the unhoused.
It bothers me seeing some of the responses here.

This man Mom was found in a suitcase on the side of the highway when he was 14.

Can you imagine the mental anguish that man has been going through since he was a child?

The fact that he made it to 30 in of itself is a miracle but we demonizing him because he had "multiple arrests"

My Pops Forever RIP
I’ve seen this dude before in the Heights. He’d get on the A, do his thing and straphangers would give him some money.

Other times, he’d be visibly going through it. Seen him on 145th and punched a wall in the Subway car (where the ads would be) cuz he wasn’t making any money that day. Really felt bad, but otherwise he was just doing his :mj: routine and had people feel good even for a couple of minutes.

This is the type of shyt that happens when everyone wants to be the Equalizer. What that marine did was totally out of bounds and he better serve time, but he won’t because not only does the city think homelessness is a crime, they wanna make it tougher for them to get the help they need. Eric Adams too busy tryna be at every party function or gala.

A couple of weeks ago a dude got shot for waving a fake gun at strap hangers and tried to get away by running on the catwalk of the el train. Now in that case it was handled properly, but Mayor Adams was more upset about that shyt fukking up his evening schedule than being worried about the entire situation.

the more I learn about this case the more I think the Mayor is trying to have people avoid talking about his hand in making this happen

1) the fact it took 15 minutes for the police to respond. He was talking big shyt after the Sunset park shooter and yet again no cops actually working but they clocking max overtime
2) the fact he ran on fixing crime and here we go with a Goetz/Gardner special
3) he has done nothing to help with the homeless problem in general in the city.
4) he was probably partying on Monday like he does every other night

Brad Lander is going to wash him next election.

They've tried to have more police presence on the platforms. I do wonder what the other passengers will say. Did they feel they were in danger?

I don’t need to come back to this thread because my thoughts are on some scorched earth shyt.
Because once again, people are ignoring the precedence. I want it to be known that in the US., if somebody is yelling or threatening you, like racists do to blacks. all the time, you are fully allowed to use lethal force to deal with them.

THATS what this shyt means when it’s allowed to stand. So if a Karen tries you and you feel threatened, feel free to choke her the fukk out and I don’t wanna hear shyt about self-defense laws. If a racist b*stard verbally assaults you or threatens you and rolls up on you, you can kill them. In fact, you’d be a hero and removing a “threat”.

The problem is people don’t see what this is. These assaults are a carte Blanche for people to do whatever the fukk they feel like. They want anarchy. And moving like this, they can get it.

He's trying to avoid the fact that:

- His administration's focus on housing was "Build Baby Build" even though all the housing this man is connected to is hands down without a shadow of a doubt LUXURY DEVELOPMENT which literally is the one of the driving forces behind Gentrification in NYC, ESPECIALLY in Brooklyn where he was once the BP. So yeah mega displacement and sometimes overloaded homeless shelters with no actual goal of getting these people housing and or jobs.

- He said he'd clear the subways of the homeless. I work in the Financial District right now and have been since 2015, it was filled with homeless before The Rona and it's filled with the homeless now, and I'm leaving work in a few, and I guarantee after I'm done with some light Thursday evening drinks, there will be homeless people in Fulton St. train station, many of which will be exhibiting signs of mental distress.

- He said there would be more police on the trains. Yeah there are more police in the trains. Often in train stations where they aren't needed! The homeless tend to gather at transit hubs like the various junctions and "squares" throughout the city. DUH!!!!

Eric Adams is a dumb c00n...if you support this man, you cannot possibly care about this city or the Black people in it because every step of the way he's proven that he's little more than a stupid policeman more concerned with being liked than actually showing results, because he thinks that if he's liked, it's a backdoor to the Oval Office after Biden's second term.

This man is about to spend 400M to turn Broadway (the street) in NYC into a pedestrian plaza in a manner than even the most novice traffic engineer would tell you is a stupid idea.

400M so some transplants can eat a $50 burger in Flatiron out in the street...4 months out of the year???

You know how much you could do for the homeless in this city with 400M? You know how many rent controlled apartments you could give grants to the owners and renovate to create ACTUAL affordable housing, prioritized for those in shelters? You have a shortage of workers....those same potential workers are sitting in homeless shelters RIGHT NOW.

I hate this nikka...I hate motherfukkers who support him...I hate hearing his stupid fukking voice, always talking about swagger or some other dumb shyt.

If you're a Democrat and you voted for this man, you're fukking STUPID

Bro it was peak Covid. I don’t blame people for being confused, and Adam’s was smart enough to get the political class support aka the experts.

The majority of local politicians told their constituents to vote for Adam’s and that is because the main virtue Adam’s has is he pays what he owes. The people around him love him because if he says he has you, he has you.

It’s why you don’t see no one calling him out on his bullshyt outside of AOC who is a transient at this point. He’s machine politics to the T, but it’s not a formalized party machine it’s anyone who needs a favor and can do him a favor in return. Take it a step further I think he is the result of the two term limit too.

Every politician in city hall doesn’t have to worry about post Adam’s potentially he will be the only mayor they ever deal with so of course he has power with them too because they are going to want those favors when it’s time to leave.

Plus his major comp was Yang and Silva…. They sucked too, but quiet as kept you don’t see black people defending his BS at all and that says a lot.

Eric Adams and AOC clash over death of homeless man placed in chokehold by NYC subway passenger

An unhoused man died after being placed in a chokehold on a New York City subway

New York City Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pushed back on a statement issued by New York City Mayor Eric Adams on the death of a man riding the subway, saying Mr Adams reached “a new low” with his response.

Mr Adams issued a statement on Wednesday, as reported bythe Gotham Gazette journalist Ben Max, in which the mayor addressed the death of an unhoused man on a New York City subway.

“Any loss of life is tragic,” Mr Adams’ statement began. “There’s a lot we don’t know about what happened here, so I’m going to refrain from commenting further.”

“However, we do know there were serious mental health issues in play here which is why our administration has made record investment in providing care to those who ended it and getting people off the streets and subways, and out of dangerous situations,” the statement continued.

The unhoused man, identified as 30-year-old Jordan Neely, died after being placed in a chokehold by a subway passenger – something Mr Adams did not address in his statement.

The incident began on Monday (1 May) after Mr Neely allegedly expressed verbal frustration to fellow passengers on the train.

An unidentified passenger then placed Mr Neely in a chokehold.

An autopsy conducted by the medical examiner’s office ruled Mr Neely’s death a homicide and the manner of death as “compression of neck”.

They noted that any criminal culpability and charges would be left to law enforcement to pursue

“This honestly feels like a new low,” Ms Ocasio-Cortez said on Twitter on Wednesday in response to Mr Adams’ statement.

“Not being able to clearly condemn a public murder because the victim was of a social status some would deem ‘too low’ to care about,” Ms Ocasio-Cortez added.

A video, taken by freelance journalist Juan Alberto Vazquez and shared online, shows the passenger holding Mr Neely down with his arm around Mr Neely’s neck as other passengers attempted to restrain Mr Neely’s arms.

After police were called, Mr Neely was taken to a hospital but died.

In his statement, Mr Adams called on elected officials and advocacy groups to “Join us in prioritizing getting people the care they need and not just allowing them to languish.”

Ms Ocasio-Cortez called out Mr Adams for being hypocritical.

She tweeted, “The last sentence is especially rich from an admin trying to cut the very services that could have helped him.”

The reference may have been to Mr Adams’ policy change to forcibly remove people experiencing homelessness from subways who seem to be in a “psychiatric crisis”.

Additionally, Mr Adams’ latest budget proposal will cut funding to the Department of Homeless Services (DHS).

In a statement provided to The Independent, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said they are investigating the matter.

“As part of our rigorous ongoing investigation, we will review the Medical Examiner’s report, assess all available video and photo footage, identify and interview as many witnesses as possible, and obtain additional medical records. The investigation is being handled by senior,e experienced prosecutors and we will provide an update when there is additional public information to share,” a spokesperson for the Manhattan DA said."

She is a breath of fresh air. That’s the fukking tweet. And once again I need to leave this thread before I say some shyt that will have some letters knocking at my door.
