Fathom Events and 20th Century Fox have announced that they will celebrate the holiday classic’s 25th anniversary by screening Home Alone for two nights only in select theaters nationwide.

Written by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus, Home Alone spent 12 weeks at the top of the box office and introduced the world to Macaulay Culkin as Kevin, the 8-year-old booby trap maestro who, after being left behind by his family, has to defend his home against two blundering burglars (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern). Not only was it the No. 1 movie of 1990, earning more than $285.7 million, but to date, it’s still the highest grossing live-action comedy of all time in the U.S.

The special presentation, airing Nov. 8 and Nov. 11, will also feature an exclusive introduction

Movie came out when I was 2 years old, but I had the VHS and watched it more times that I could count as a child.

They shoulda waited for the Anniversary of the second one and released them both as a special edition, double movie blu-ray.
