The thing is when the game was first shown last year during the state of play everyone was 100% positive on it based on the gameplay demonstration. It’s just as of recent everyone has tried making it a political stance to support or not support it now that we’re getting close to release.

The release period for this game is gonna be so damn annoying

Yeah, it's about to be annoying as shyt out here. It's times like this that I put my Old Man Hat on, and say that I REALLY miss the way old games writers used to handle shyt like this. They had the capability to say that a game either was or wasn't some shyt, and then ALSO address how shytty a publisher or developer was as an entity for whatever reason(s).

The last game this studio made was Cars 2 by pixer. The only playable game i see in their catelog is Mortal Kombat 3 from back 1996.

So its a good chance this game might be trash regardless. but an open world harry potter game world is too tempting not to at least check out once. So we'll see. but buying it when its on sale might be a good idea.

At least they made that Mad Max game from 2015 that was some entertaining mid. Knowing this studio's previous work, there's a good chance that this game is just a mashup of current overused gameplay cliches that happens to have the Harry Potter license, and this has all been a bunch of discussion about a bum ass game.

Its not preorder status for me but we’ll see. I was really looking forward to playing it in December 2022, now that its coming out with all these other big games its a lot less enticing to me.

I hate how cancel culture goes at fans and fandoms as if they share responsibility for whatever perceived slight the person they are trying to cancel committed. What does some random person like me Playing a Harry Potter game or watching a Movie have to do with the trans community? (without bringing up JK Rowling who i have never met or spoken to in my life?) Unless we are actively shytting on trans characters in the game leave us out of the stuff.

Swear to god if somehow we found out whoever first discovered agriculture, also beat their wife, people would be getting mad at us for eating corn. saying we support hitting women.

Even then, its art. Its a game, are we all mass murderers and dope dealers cause we ran through GTA Online? I dont cosign any of that shyt in real life but you can believe Im a fukking menace in those Los Santos streets. Elden Ring is some occult inspired, satanic hellscape and I still read the Bible. People reaching HARD to correlate JKs personal views with an established universe that came out LONG before that controversy, and then try to dump that on the fans like we're bigots.

Only thing missing from this game is the multiplayer aspect
They could literally have the next fortnite or gta online if they had launched with all their ducks in order

I definitely hate JK rowling nowadays she has gone further to the karen alt right stereotype of a rich white briton and become disavowed by the entire cast of the movies to the point they didn't even want her involved in the anniversary show they did on HBO

Still think this game is so far divorced from her idea of Harry Potter though. She lost the plot with cursed child and is basically using the culture war to push a no cost fallacy onto harry potter fans

Game developers have nothing to do with rowling and shouldn't be punished by cancelling this game especially since rowling didn't write it

Lets be reality. It'll be one of the biggest games in recent memory and sell a shyt ton of copies whether it's a good game or not. Complaining about cancellation makes no sense when you're watching a real time example of a person/IP that cannot be cancelled.

She's right about her opponents. They want to keep Harry Potter but remove her. Yet if that's the case, why do they pick and choose what they support? Surely they should burn all her works, stop watching the movies, etc. So why are they up in arms about the game?

The trans community is extremely vocal online but they're a loud minority ans most people don't care about acusations of transphobia. I get that they're pissed at some of her statements but from what I've seen JK just has a firm stance that a woman is defined biologically. Can't be mad at that.

Here's the thing that anoys me. They try so hard to make it seem like JK Rowling has nothing to do with the game, or the movies etc. No matter what mental gymnastics they come up with, she's the one who created this universe. If you don't like her statements simply don't buy and don't play the game. I dropped Kanye with the quickness in 2018.
