I mean I guess I understand in that I'm not surprised Kanye would be petty about something like that. But at the end of the day, who really gives a fukk? Lots of people were signed to production deals and didn't have to let whoever signed them know about every single move they made. Being signed with someone as a producer is usually different than being signed to someone as an artist.

Even if he was mad, to be on some "I'm not gonna pick your beats anymore" shyt is lame. And that can actually hurt producers. When producers sign deals it's usually for x amount of beats in y amount of time. Or sometimes, you have to do x amount of beats for me/our team before you can do beats for outside people. So, if the person you're signed to stops picking your beats, then you might be stuck in that deal until the time is up. That happened to a few producers that signed to G-Unit back in the 2000's.

That's what I took from it.

Not defending him here, but I think he's saying that it's weird that he wouldn't know about Hit Boy producing a track for Beyonce when he knows the producer/has him signed to him, and he personally knows Beyonce and Jay.

I personally don't see it as a reason to be offended by any means, because that could easily be one of those things where everyone involved assumed one of the other people involved would end up at least telling him in passing, and it never happened. Either way, it's really not something worth getting worked up over.
I agree on the bolded, and I think the problem is that Kanye is often the exact opposite, and looks for reasons to be offended by anything.

To be fair, it was a "secret" album. Nobody knew it was dropping or what would exactly be on it. A lot of people who worked on it weren't supposed to talk about it.

What's funny is Hitboy's song on the album was the first track that leaked. "Flawless" leaked with "I Been On". It was one long song. When the album came out "I Been On" was removed and "Flawless" was its own song that had a speech added, a beat switch, and another Beyonce verse.

I always see these dudes complaining about their contracts and for new artist I get it. But with these established acts, I never see them having this energy for their attorneys who are supposed to break down and explain these contracts before signing them... They always seem to pop up years later like "look at these terms on this contract" meanwhile I see their names signed on the bottom of it.

So while feel their frustration, I'm not gonna put ALL the blame on these record companies because artists have told us for decades that they shady

I’ll tell y’all exactly what it is. Kanye has went on record on being VERY insecure. Just look at the whole situation with Drake. It’s based off his insecurity that Aubrey would be “bigger” then him.

I wouldn’t be surprised that Ye started hearing how dope Hit-Boy was becoming on production and he felt threatened by that. So he just made up an excuse to not work with him again.

I don't think Kanye was bothered by Hitboy's come up or becoming bigger. I think Kanye was more so bothered by Hitboy landing a placement on that Beyonce album and he didn't. That album was a big deal and the song Hitboy did was a single and a remix with Nicki Minaj.

Hitboy also had a song on Jay's album that same year and Kanye wasn't on that one either.

Kanye even went as far as dissing JT's collaboration ("Suit & Tie") with Jay Z out of nowhere.

If thats the case, wouldn't he have the same feelings toward Travis Scott or Big Sean?

Kanye was probably in Paris designing some shyt and walking around with confederate flags, screaming that the man was stopping him from being Walt Disney and Andrew Carnegie with his ideas.

People like Hit-boy seem to hustle hard independently, they're not sitting on their ass waiting for management and especially not management like Kanye West who has 2 weeks per year for music, to save him or to report to. That hustle spirit is celebrated by the labels, cause they don't do shyt and just receive bags every month. Kanye probably just had a PMS-breakdown, on some Beyonce does not even pick up my calls :sadbron:
