LOL his reply and the way he responded to her racist questions pretty much confirmed he thought it was racist. She attacked him from the beginning like a c*nt and tried to be snide about it. "Oh Spike Lee is jumping on the Kickstarter bandwagon? Why is he asking for money?" She would have never asked Spielberg this type of question. That's why Spike brought his name up. And plus Spike has been doing shyt like this for years because it is extremely hard for Black directors to get funding for their projects. But this bytch knew that and tried to push her viewpoint on him with "People are saying" bullshyt. Spike wasn't having it. Checked that bytch to the point she tried to put her hand on his shoulder when he was checking her ass. LOL (body language saying, "I'm afraid and uncomfortable") Somebody put a battery in her back and she thought she would get points for "trying to start a conversation" when it was set up an attack piece.

Watch the other reporter, he tried to defuse the situation several times, but he probably thought the questioning was out of line and let Spike have at the bytch.

It was very unprofessional of her to open in such a confrontational and insulting way The controversy surrounding kickstarter was not her lead. Her lead should have been the overall idea behind kickstarter, why a celebrity as successful as spike is using that medium for funding, and THEN during the course of the interview ask him to address what critics of his approach are saying. Yeah. Im not going to accuse her of being racist, but the question begs: other celebrities are using kickstarter....spike name dropped Veronica Mars, and Zach Braff. You think that chick would play them like that in an opening?

Japan, but from the 989
they're both dikks, it wasnt racist it was just rude, they were saying the same thing about this dude http://www.nbcnews.com/entertainmen...-ire-kickstarter-campaign-new-film-6C10026213

but im guessing being rude and direct is her schtick, imo spike had a right to be mad but it would have been better to tone it down a little, in the end it was just 2 dikks going at it

I agree they are both dikks, but the true test of "Is this racist?" Is if you substitute the person being asked the question. So, if Spielberg was in the same position, would the same questions be asked? If Woody Allen did the same thing, would the same questions be asked? Would those questions be asked in the same manner? Laughing at your accomplishments while asking why you can't get funding. I think Spike went light on the bytch to be honest. She was being an ass about what he has had to do his entire career. Get funding for HIS films. Kickstarter is just a public way of doing what he has been doing since the beginning. So you have this c*nt sitting here laughing at his struggles and making light of what he has to deal with....she got off light.

Its more about status than race. I guarantee you Denzel or Will Smith would have been approached a lot of differently.

For some strange reason...I don't think they would have at all. She came off too aggressive, I think you would have seen the same reaction, but she would have behaved differently if it was Denzel or Will because she thought Spike Lee wasn't about that life! LOL

:usure:

Spielberg would be the EXACT type of person they'd ask this question.

This isn't a race thing so much as it's a "people are tired of celebrities using kickstarter" thing.

I dunno if its racist...they are expecting more out of him to be rich in his career and not need the people or leverage the people. But then again they are not going after the celeb white folks using the kickstarter, so there might be some bias.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
On second look.. Spike fukked that up. She was looking for a :krs: type reaction and he gave it to her. He could hav easily educated them on the benefits of crowdfunding, the publicity he brings to the site which in turn draws hits that could view other projects. And the fact that must productions/production companies don't fund their entire project out of pocket. he could have made them and critics alike re-evaluate their opinions but instead he gets emotional.
