Do you think that it benefits Black children to see Black people publicly succeed?
They grow up in a world where they are bombarded with negative imagery, news stories, and propaganda about people who look them and from where they're from. Some may start to think that this is who and what they are, as well. The Black firsts stories are a counter to that, expanding their views of what Black individuals can do.

Judge Ketanji has two parents who were attorneys and judges, and even she says that she drew inspiration from seeing a Black first in the media.

Let her know that it was possible for her to achieve.

We see the worst behaviors, worst people from our communities on full media display 24/7. Why wouldn't people applaud to see those who represent the best values succeed publicly?

If a black child see their black parents succeeding then that should be all that matters. You talk about negativity in the media, which is the point I just made. I nor any other black parson have anything to do with another black persons failures in life, same way we don’t have to do with their success. This is what should be taught.

Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
they are not replacing him with another black man. he will be replaced by an asian, hispanic or another black woman.
Hispanic is already on the bench, black woman now. Asians don't seem to care one way or another so the next one will either be a white man, or native American which would be a first as well
They'll probably get a gay/lesbian judge next. :manny:

Do you have any distant relatives who are incarcerated? Do you have any distant relatives who are currently in school/training?

You had very little, if anything, to do with the choices or paths they've taken. Do you feel the same way about where they both are now?

We need to purge the Black Community from the anti intellectuals that have strong conviction in stupidity.
We got one poster questioning Thurgood Marshall :wow:
Another poster convinced Thurgood Marshall is really Clarence Thomas :wow:
And the cream of the crop, a third poster arguing that a return to Jim Crow era violence, oppression and terrorism would be a good thing :wow:
The Coli :wow:
