Do you think that it benefits Black children to see Black people publicly succeed?
They grow up in a world where they are bombarded with negative imagery, news stories, and propaganda about people who look them and from where they're from. Some may start to think that this is who and what they are, as well. The Black firsts stories are a counter to that, expanding their views of what Black individuals can do.

Judge Ketanji has two parents who were attorneys and judges, and even she says that she drew inspiration from seeing a Black first in the media.

Let her know that it was possible for her to achieve.

We see the worst behaviors, worst people from our communities on full media display 24/7. Why wouldn't people applaud to see those who represent the best values succeed publicly?

Lets be real we don't show the everyday successful black people resepect.
Showing the famous ones love does not do anything when the everyday successful black are seen as sellout

The three most powerful black people in America (Kamala, Ketanji, Clarence Thomas) all have white spouses. :francis:
What material difference would it make if they were married to or fukking a black person? Are you suggesting they're some sort of Manchurian candidate being controlled by their white spouse? Tf yall keep bringing that up for? The most powerful person for 8 years was married to a black woman whose people are from the low country of South Carolina.

“It’s just a coincidence. Who cares anyway, most black people marry other blacks”

- coli idiot
Not so much a coincidence as it is incidental. I think it's pretty obvious why some blacks who matriculate at certain academic institutions or reach certain professional heights end up with non-black spouses. I'm guessing that reality makes some of you uncomfortable though so it's easier to cast wild aspersions.

So whats the first laws that need to be changed by her in black folks favor?... :sas2:
That’s not how the Supreme Court works. She is expected to be a liberal Justice. The Court is 6-3 Conservative to Liberal. She is, at best, going to be writing vigorous dissents for a long time.
Elections have consequences. When people decided not to vote for Hillary, that gave Trump the ability to appoint Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. Special shout out to Mitch McConnell for stealing one of Obama’s picks from him (the seat that ended up going to Gorsuch).
Stupid decisions also have consequences. When RBG refused to retire when Obama was in the White House and Dems controlled the Senate, that gave Trump the ability to appoint ACB to replace her.

Above the fray.

Who would be the next most powerful 3?
The Sec. of Defense, and the 3 current US Senators would make up the next tier.
