My Pops Forever RIP
And how far exactly have these guys made it? Lol

All these guys you listed outside Ty$ (and ironically he got a kdot feature) are still really only local artists after years of work. Problem in particular has been rapping for over 10 years now and still hasn't seen mainstream bread. California has always been a bubble that is hard to break out of for emerging artists.

A single Kendrick feature right now with how hot he is can change one of these guys careers and get them a mainstream look that goes beyond California.
Cali rappers are also pretty damn self-sufficient. Problem has a 10 year that's still a career because Cali holds him down. Same with the Bay and their rappers. Drake doesn't have that safety net. He could never just be a Canadian rapper who can live good off that. shyt, even rappers in big towns can only sustain but so much being local. Ask NY rappers.

This begging for a Kendrick feature goes back to what Ak always says about Kendrick. He doesn't put out enough stuff and because he's "inactive" he's the rap version of Kawhi Leonard. Rappers like Kendrick are enemies of content creators because they can't create content off him, and given how big of an artist he is, that's a missed opportunity. He takes his time. Ironically, Drake's best project came from not wanting to immediately follow up Thank Me Later with a mixtape, feeling like he rushed Thank Me Later and deciding he wanted to take care and make the most cohesive project he could. Even Drake knows he shoulda fell back a couple of times now but he's caught up in needing to flood the game with music. Now even some of his more recent hits get lost in the shuffle.

Drake has yet to blow up anybody. Jb bloccboy wishes he had a g perico fan base.

Atl
G Perico (LA) and Q Da Fool (Maryland) both got dropped by Roc Nation. Both had potential but I didn't really see Roc do anything for them. Never saw them on any major platforms besides the local ones that everybody gets on.
Roc nation is fumbling hard if they really dropped g perico. If they did their damn job he’d be huge.

This is an awful thread with all of the bad acting characters in place, even that fakkit ass contrarian

Thread is comedy.

People talking about "Kendrick used the westcoast!" like he needed a co-sign from all them C-Z tier rappers. :mjlol:

People talking about "why didn't he give any west coast artists a look after the Pop Out?!"....the Pop Out was the look, dummy. Aside from a couple artists none had ever been in a venue that big.

Which is why nobody who was actually there is complaining. It's just weirdos, outsiders like Adam22, and passive aggressive Drake stans like Ak.

Fred.

IIRC, for one of the artists, I think the first one that performed, it was his first ever show.
