MJs scale from OTW to Thriller isn't even comparable, he went from a v good artist to the biggest that we had even seen or even conceive. Plus thriller has all the milestones added like first black male on MTV, the moonwalk, first huge videos, Motown 25, etc etc. If you were to ask people around that time whether MJ could fly theyd be maybe 
So ppl can't look at it clinically and objectively thriller vs off the wall, whether you are white or black or anything.OWW was pretty much just the music, whereas thriller is all the other epic stuff. I love them both , like my main and side.

But I understand someone picking Thriller cause the album had BANGERS. Mix that with the legendary visual's and performances he had associated with that album. It's EASY to understand why someone would prefer it. This is a stupid fukkin argument.

i watch CNN 90's series a year ago & the episode on TV/cable the part of MTV's very beginnings -the documentary briefly covered them not playing black music... in which someone told the story behind them to start - mike was the biggest star in the world and his new album was soon dropping his record label told MTV if they don't play his vid they would blackball all their artist from the network (the song rock with u was playing in the background as the story was being told)
