There was a thread on online classes in the old KTL. I was hoping that we could get that up here again, but those links would have to be re-posted. It was one of the better threads on there. I know you're around here somewhere TWISM and I'm pretty sure you were pivotal in that.

I agree tho, we need more activity. IMO a lot of the problem is that the people who posted in KTL pretty much already know each other's opinions about everything, so there's not as much reason to post. For example I don't post about religion or politics as much as I used to, not because of any change of opinion or conviction, but because I already know what most people will say. We need new blood.
But that said I'll def make an effort to try to think of interesting topics. I work in tech support so I tend to be at a computer pretty much all day.

I agree. That's why I was trying to shift this to be a place where we'd of course talk about the top issues of the day, but be a more beneficial place for things that academic and career related.
Seeing how we have a lot of people in graduate school or college (even high school), this should be the place that all issues related to those things are discussed.

i would like HL to be viewed as the place to post any serious & intellectual threads and not just a political & current events forum. i think some TLR threads would be better suited for this forum rather than the light hearted and joking TLR. KTL was somewhat segregated from the rest of sohh and almost seemed a little elitist. some new blood and an infusion of some fresh topics rather than the same old debates rehashed could do this forum some good
For one thing, you could move some of the relevant topics from other places, like the Locker Room, here. As it stands, that place has a pretty general and wide range of things going on, but a lot of the posters who used to post in KTL and are around here don't check over there.
I have to slightly disagree with this. This forum is not even really all that old, but there's already a dedicated conspiracy thread. One which I haven't upped for that very reason you mentioned. I haven't merged everything in there because people don't seem to want that, but I can if they do.
