i only heard a few minutes of the podcast this morning but it seemed like a bunch of shyt talking, which is cool if thats what you tryna do, but thats not exactly what i had in mind. i was thinking more discussion, debate, and structure.

and i think we need an exclusive HL podcast to keep shyt civilized, no offense

and how long we trying make these shows, 30 mins, 60 mins, 120 mins?

we need a topic and a time. we might need to do two shows a week to work around peoples schedules, one during the weeknight, and one on the weekend.

so how does this work? we just need a skype account?

Yeah nobody here wants to be a part of that. We probably don't need to have this dude Mook setting up the Higher Learning podcast unless he just doesn't say a word the whole time. He's all about joking and beefing. Nothing wrong with that, but that's not really what we're looking for here.

Anybody else know how to set up and record podcasts?

Yeah my breh like I said I'm tryna do an actual discussion joint where its mostly ya'll just talking, this last podcast we didn't plan shyt they literally just called my phone and told me to talk shyt.

barnone you should create a podcast thread and sticky it at the top with all the logistical info (day, time, topic, etc) and anyone who wants to be a part of that podcast can post it in the thread. For example, "HL PODCAST-Topic: EDUCATION-Wed. 9:30pmEST" and then the posters take it from there and discuss format, structure, and the breakdown of specific topics. The thread can also serve as a place for listeners to comment during the show.

dont get sensitive. i dont see a problem with you modding the podcast if you come correct, but you gotta come correct.

Ok, after witnessing last nights debacle I am volunteering my services to host the podcast this week if you guys haven't found anyone yet. I think we can do a brief overview on current events then possibly follow that with a 20-30 minute discussion on whatever hot topic is trending in news/and or politics.

Witty comments are ok, but the overall tone of the podcast should be respectful and serious. Im am NOT for playing the dozens for 45 min.

Overall length will be around 45-50 min. I can host the first few and then I will gladly hand over the reigns to someone else who might be interested. I think podomatic is probably the best place to host the podcasts, mainly because it is free there.

And zerozero if your serious about hosting this podcast, I can set it all up and show you the basic gist of editing and setting up the necessary things.

Then cats can't decide who will be on it. I straight up said, so we good for this 9:30 shyt that people are talking about? I got no response.

The other day Serious, myself and someone else were trying to go through it, but TWISM and others I mentioned were ghost. Zero zero, no disrespect, but I'm not that familiar with you and I wanted some regulars on there plus cats were not responding like that. You're welcome to get in on it. At the end of the day, it's not like the shyt you do Mook where you guys are like, "Aight let's go in."

How is it that cats can post up articles at all times of the day and respond to them within 15 minutes of them being commented on with breadth and depth, but can't talk for 30 minutes on a podcast?

Like I said before, I will help brainstorm topics and even outline how the shyt will go with whoever moderates.

Can't speak for anyone else, but the fact that I don't get home until 11 every weeknight kinda hinders me from being able to log into skype at my pc and talk to people
for 30-60 minutes. I'm posting from my phone now as I usually do. People have lives.

we dont need to have the entire HL forum on at the same time. 3/4 is enough. anymore than that and people are sitting being quiet for the whole show.


do the moderators know how to record the podcast and everything? any tech questions?
