So who is actually down for this podcast thing? I was waiting for the site to get up to inquire about it again.

We'd need to figure out some kinda format. We also need opposing views, but those that can do so respectfully, and not let it turn into a shouting match.

What this place could use is a thread dedicated to any and everything relating to higher education. It should be stickied at the top of the page so everyone could see it. There was a discussion in the LR about the pros and cons of going to an HBCU vs a PWI and I saw another one about law school. This might be a better forum for questions like that. For example, there's a thread on the first page from a poster asking what to do with his BS degree. A thread on higher education could answer questions like that.

The thread could be partly for advice and partly for resources. We could post links to online classes, study guides, scholarships, organizations, etc. There are lot of young people on this site that are thinking of going to college, are already in college, or just graduated from college. A thread designed to help them at all levels of their education could really take off. That way we could still have discussion, but also help other posters as well.

I recommended all of that, but the problem is getting people from the LR in here. That and the one million conspiracy threads. But I definitely wanted to have a dedicated thread on higher education as in college.

After that there could/should be a thread dedicated to everything that is post-grad. That's in the works. I also wish more of these Obama/Romney threads would just be put in the presidential election thread, but I don't to get too merge heavy.

Not necessarily. Get KingpinOG to do it- he would bring straight comedy, plus, he knows how to play the sober Repub when he has to, and somebody ask OGC. He's always linking to those bloggingheads.tv videos, so he's somewhat familiar with the format, plus, he is an intelligent (economic) conservative.

I asked Skippy already and he was too shook. He's probably useless without being able search freerepublic and hotair.com for talking points.

Well it begs the question, whats the point other than the fact it would be audio as opposed to just text?

While this is all being discussed. Do you all want a dedicated thread to higher education? We post about the subject a lot.

Oh and Vic, I'm going to put your post in the Presidential Election 2012 thread.

:birdman: It's not about the 2012 election though.
