I can't swing a bat anymore. Took too much time away from the game. I could hit fastballs at a good clip if there was very little movement, most HS or even college pitchers at a lower division don't have a lot of movement on their shyt

Once you step away, it's hard to get back in

And that's Kenny Lofton at bat too, not just some league average player

"Kenny Lofton was 8-33 with 2 RBIs in 40 plate appearances against Randy Johnson" that's a .242 AVG which is solid as hell against a HOF

Lotion was a remarkable athlete. He was a point guard at Arizona when they reached the Final Four with Sean Elliott. A few other teammates also made the NBA. Lofton barely played baseball at Arizona.

Same thing with Tony Gwynn. He played more basketball than baseball when he attended SDSU.

Lofton was a one-and-done in the HOF voting with below 5%. That’s the same year Tim Raines got in.

Looking at the career numbers, there’s not that much of a difference between them.

I remember another clip where the benches cleared when Randy threw a Slider to him high and inside and the benches cleared, no way an average person is walking up to the plate and getting a hit

I don’t think Johnson was trying to hit him but he definitely wanted to pitch high and inside to intimidate.

Yeah, definitely no I’ll intent :mjpls: :mjpls:

I think Randy was still salty over Kenny scoring on that passed ball in the 95’ ALCS

So when he faced Kenny afterwards, he would throw those Bob Gibson, Nolan Ryan-type brushback pitches at him.

Historically, pitchers have been huge babies.

“Don’t admire your homerun too long”

“Don’t flip your bat”

“His teammates hit home runs off me back-to-back, so I’m going to bean this guy with a 95 MPH pitch!”

I’m glad baseball seems to be going away from that old tradition.

I hit against a few Major League prospects in HS and in college.

In HS, I hit leadoff and the pitcher we were facing got drafted in the 3rd Round that year. I lead the game off with a hit, but really dude should have got the K cause he froze the shyt out of me on the nasty breaking ball when I had 2 strikes. The shyt bit so hard that I think the umpire didn't even compute it.

I stepped out the box like a cool ass dude just taking a close pitch tho. Next pitch, lined it to right center, then stole 2nd base, then after that he no hit us the rest of the game.

:mjlol:

Damn.

I sit behind home plate for some games when Yu Darvish was with the Rangers, and his fastball was low 90's...man when his arms was extended you would just hear the snap of the catchers glove and never see the ball, until he threw it back to Yu. I was like aint no fukking way :mjlol:.

Watching baseball live from behind home plate is like watching real life magic. It's like the pitch, the swing, and the catch happen all at the same time :mjlol:. It made it impossible to follow. I thought the shyt would be cool but after the 3rd time I was like yeah never sitting behind home plate again I can't even tell what the fukk is going on. Can't even tell it's a hit until dude is taking his shin guards off at 1st base :mjlol:
Back in my mlb Fandom days I would go to Safeco simply to stand by the cage where the pitchers warm up. shyt blew my mind everytime how hard and fast, pause, they threw the ball
