There is no critical thinking in school.
Comes down to the individual, I can give you the tools to become successful, it doesn't mean that you'll necessarily succeed.
You can't question the books given... Especially History.
 You must have had some horrible teacher in school breh. My history professor in college had us reading primary sources, from there we were able to come up with our own analysis what really happened, sohh yes we did question the book, because given context clues we're be able to arrive our very on conclusion, history can be very subjective imo....

Thus why in my European history class, we had a 30 minute debate between two black males, on whether or not Frederick the III of Germany(Prussia) was Enlightened or not(sh*t was piff) :yeshrug:

What world some of you posters live in is not real.
sohh what is, life is a simulation breh
SOL( Standard of Learning) has nothing to do with learning but to test students on questions the people who created SOL don't know the answers to.
fair enough if you're talking about how public schools put pressure on teachers to pass Standardized Test, which have no impact on a students' grade.....

(x^3 + 5x^2+6x)/(x^2 - x - 12) isn't going to help you keep your lights on.

baby steps breh

Crawl >>>>>> Walk >>>>> Run

:aicmon::heh: Tell that to the Scientist / Researchers and Engineers who do a higher advanced form of math(calculus) everyday :yeshrug:

I mean it's cool if you like flying on planes not engineered by mathematics or seeking help from doctors who lack the ability to critically think on a moments notice. Oh bu bu bu but not everyone is going to be a doctor or engineer, sohh are we going stop people trying anyway. Yes, people should be remain in a state ignorance and remain dumb and never question the people in charge. How dare we educate people to think like scientist or doctors.

I swear society could be on a brink of a new enlightenment, not seen since the 17-18th century(noticed I just referenced history) but all you anti-academic, smart-dumb, pseudo-intellectual, homo sapiens (the majority) keep stopping progress.

Imagine if science had a fraction of this country's support (25%), we could be doing big things. :smh: @ NASA's Rover budget being as small as 2.5 billion yet still engineering it to perfectly land on Mars, complete various task. Yet it's ok to blow through a few billion monthly in the Middle East :ohhh:

all public education from grade 1-8 is a waste for the average student. Everything about the world learned in elementary school is a lie except for the little math and reading skills. Pretty much the only thing they are taught is the significance of each holiday, and they really arent significant

History wise, 95% of colonial american history is a lie. Native americans were able to son vikings for 500 years prior, but a couple of ships full of starving tourists are able to eradicate their population down to 1%? :childplease:

Secondly, lets talk about math. it doesn't take 9 years to teach a child calculus, let alone algebra. You spend 2nd through approx 8th grade learning simple addition and subtraction when they should at least have mastered trig by then.

Science wise, nothing important is taught until 9th grade. The most complex subject discussed before that is probably condensation or photosynthesis. And even then they dont tell you much about it.

The last four years offers the best chance at any type of education. Most schools have vocational buildings with carpentry, automotive, agriculture, shyt like that. They offer more realistic classes with math, physics, calc, world history and things like that, which it doesnt take 8 years to be able to be taught.

Public education builds such a weak foundation at the beginning of a child's learning career, then drops 500 lb's on them right at the end of their 12 years. The course material from 1-12 isn't tough in the slightest, its just kids dont get taught how to think creatively and effectively in their early years and waste the brain's most productive years, then they go through the rest of the grades at a handicap.

Breh, I have an interview to go to so I didn't read all that, but I did get to where you were criticizing high school history. At some point you're all going to have to stop painting high school education with a broad brush. I don't what high school you went to, but colonist were not glorified where I was growing up. It was always implanted that Native Americans got a raw deal.

To be fair, this mainly occurred under a substitute teacher :whoo:

breh if you read the post wich you admitted you didn't, i stated that high school is the only years in public education where there's a legit chance of education. i might even quote myself

Tools of Success...name them...oh the 3 R's. What else? Have you read the stats of illiterate children in American Schools?

Condescending tones like yours proves you truly don't have a clue on education. None of what you said captures anything in the same space as the your primary school years. You don't sit in a class room all day to learn how to fly planes. Teaching about driving and driving yourself is two different things. The experience plus knowledge is better than just the knowledge itself.

I swear society could be on a brink of a new enlightenment, not seen since the 17-18th century(noticed I just referenced history) but all you anti-academic, smart-dumb, pseudo-intellectual, homo sapiens (the majority) keep stopping progress.

You referenced European History as your enlightenment unless you are white....what does it mean to those who are non-white? There you go with your "I'm better than you" attitude. Stop talking to someone like a child and man up.

Imagine science helping people instead of flying up to a planet that people won't be able to go to for another 500 years? The earth has everything we need to sustain itself. Those who have been greedy such as the Elite has wage war with science on their side. They used science for WMD's, GMO's, deadly vaccines and pharmaceutical drugs. Nearly more half the children are becoming autistic and are on psycho-tropic drugs. So why would school even matter than?

Time to find out what real prioritizes are instead of ranting about what you think you know.

:umad: I wasn't even going to mention the 3 r's. More or less, like I said in my opening statement, overall it comes down to the individual. The road to success is basically paved out, essentially if you take care of your priorities. Go to school M-F. Do your homework, ask question in class if you're not sure about something, go to the public library for help. In modern times, you have various applications and websites dedicated to enhancing the learning process (ie KhanAcademy). It really comes down to personally willpower and luck. Get grades in school, land a fully paid scholarship to a top tier school. Learn new concepts, f*ck hoes, then graduate. Get a nice kushy 50k+ job, pay your taxes, vote and become a productive citizen. I know this a very hard path to follow....

Where is that in what I explain in the 3 main schooling institutions? Elementary, Middle and High School.

:heh: seriously, history doesn't really matter until you get to college. My history classes in high school just laid the foundation for facts. None of the material was subjective or arguably, pretty much straight forward. College just took a more in depth look at relatively the same subject matter. Essentially bashing the f*ck out of the white man.

Yet they weren't taught their history.
:wtf: are talking about. Are you talking about black history? It was a European World History class.

You obviously don't know that the SOL testing has been going on over 15 years now...how much baby steps are there?
Yeah, yeah I've seen the data. I know teachers are under a lot of pressure to make the students do well on standardize test. We can all thank George Bush for severely re-enforcing these test. Imo, I see no real foul, most of the material I had been learning through the school year had been the test. I have read articles about students who weren't as lucky when these test initially came out.

Condescending tones like yours proves you truly don't have a clue on education. None of what you said captures anything in the same space as the your primary school years. No sh*t, that's considered the age of reason where we derive of our most modern day science and math(calculus) from :rudy:. Also people began to question authority and religion.

Imagine science helping people instead of flying up to a planet that people won't be able to go to for another 500 years? The earth has everything we need to sustain itself. See, there you go with that conspiracy b/s. Imo, I believe prioritizing science is the key to the future. Simply because there's an abundant amount of fields, research(potentially an endless amount of jobs) and things to explore.

Sorry I couldn't answer all your question in depth, f*ck I look like writing an essay.....

"It comes down to the Individual". There is your problem right there, those who question things in class are labeled as trouble makers( collectively)...especially in the age of ADHD and Autistic and Gifted kids. You fail to focus on a actual issue here.

Continuing with Condescending tones makes you think you are smart.

Yes...we figured you take that class.

Man did this dude just say War and Destroying the Earth's Resources
are the only things science has accomplished in the last 100 years ?

WTF ? Do you idiots think before you type ?
If it weren't for intelligent forward thinking individuals we wouldn't even
be having this conversation right now because there would be no internet.

Personally as a society I think we simply DO NOT value education.
I see it too much on the internet,I've run into tons of people who use Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates as examples of what not going to school can do for you.
The thing these idiots overlook is that these guys were already very intelligent people, dropping out of highly respected schools.

If people could see that education is something to be respected and look at teachers as people who matter a great deal in society we might see some change.

We've already seen some ignorant @ss responses regarding math in this very thread.
Imagine telling some dude who programs videogames for a living or someone who works out equations for firing missiles with pin point accuracy that "math doesn't put food on the table", he'd look at you like a damn fool and rightfully so.

:wtf: are trying to say breh. I always asked the teacher questions, whether I was trolling or being serious.

Heck, I was a problem child until my Junior year of high school, I had somewhat of a mature epiphany and put aside all the stupid fake gang banging and fighting over colors.

Like I said it comes down to the individual.

I can use this same logic towards someone who's out of shape and wants to be fit and healthy. They'll never reach those atheistic goals until they're ready to put aside their bad traits.(inadequate sleep, bad diet, lack of exercise) :pacspit:

And issues like ADHD and Autism are a little complex, than just how education is being taught
Why wait til College which
most black men don't get to see anyways? History by Capitalists focus on their side of the story. Unfortunately real History is barely touching College Courses.

I wonder why they won't. :rolleye: could it be all the anti-academic nuts, that convince everyone college is a scam. what is real history then. Last time I checked all my white (liberal) history professors had a sense of white guilt, and took account that white people in America did a lot of idiotic moronic illogical sh*t.

Honestly, there were times, when I felt walking out of class and joking the nearest white person I saw.......

Sh*t was deep. I personally think you have to be fairly mature to really go into depth about such a sensitive subjects such as slavery, rape, the CIA staging coups, etc....

It would totally :mindblown: adolescents.

Yes...we figured you take that class.
:stopitslime: The first thing I did when I got to college was take a series of courses on AA history. I wanted a different perspective of history. Honestly, I've noticed a lot of you assclowns in HL, subscribe to Booker T. Washington's philosophy of working hard and not educating yourselves to the full 5/5 th's :scusthov:

Age of Reason... . When Blacks and Native Americans were enslaved in America and Europe while White Europeans and Americans

became Atheists.
:heh: funny thing is many of those European atheist opposed slavery. :ohhh:

So Chemical, Biological and Nuclear aren't science? Last time I checked...scientists made those weapons..not politicians. War and Destroying Earth Resources are the only things Science has accomplice in the last 100 years. Thanks to some of the finest Bank running philanthropists.

:snoop: here we go picking and choosing when to acknowledge and reference science. Never mind the computer you're using right now, was made possible through scientific innovation. You have to be a complete idiot write off science because a few people in power decide to use it for empirical benefits. Nevermind that humans having been going to war for years, decades, centuries, and most likely since the beginning of time.
