Decided to watch this a second time since I barely remembered what went down and with a more mature head I see that the plot really could have been avoided if Maximus didn't get emotional or Commodus had fukking sense. Commodus commits patricide because his father chose Maximus to take the throne, then offers Maximus a spot in his Praetorian guard. Maximus decides to diss the man in front of everybody, accuses Commodus of usurping throne which gets himself and his family a brutal death sentence...
Commodus didn't have to OD on the situation either. Maximus only wanted to go home to his family. He should have just played the grieving son and let Maximus go on his way instead of being hyped to make him a bodyguard.
And Maximus could have checked himself, taken the offer and take Commudus out from within. A lot of people didn't like Commodus anyway and he would have had a good chunk of the senate backing him up.
But at least he freed some slaves and met his family in the afterlife...

It's alot plotholes in Harry Potter. Ron and his family was poor as fukk but, they're witches. Rowlings wrote that witches couldn't create anything out of thin air but, they could duplicate something that was already there a million times.

The OG Karate Kid Mr. Miyagi beat the shyt out of Johnny and his boys on Halloween they were minors so they could've had him arrested, and continue to kick Daniel-San's ass on the regular.
