Lots of mistakes in this thread. Too bad I have been busy all weekend.

The best video card bang for buck is the radeon 6850 btw

With a $1,000 budget I would have taken a gamble on that Korean ips monitor...even if you had to pay $50 to return it...definitely worth the gamble with the potential savings.

You can play any game @ 1080p for much less also. Maybe $500

:wow: at this misinformation and yall wanna make him mod

best bang for buck is 6870

jump in performance is not that much to pay extra imo. You can get a 6850 for $130 with a free copy of dirt 3. pretty sure all the beches agree with me on the 6850, that shyt is a great price on that card...you can overclock it to a 6870 if you wish

Crossfire them for about $260 in the future, get a 120gb ssd, use the old hdd, that Korean monitor, i5 or i7 and you are good for years. I'm not on a PC to research all this shyt right now. Just going off the top

make sure you cop that SSD breh, shyt is great. they are coming down in price, they had the crucial m4 128GB for $100 recently. it might be cool to raid0 2 of them if you have nothing to do

the 6850 is fine. 2tb like liquid said, if you dont have that kind of storage already.

i personally wouldnt get the korean monitor. you could probably cop a 24" acer/asus from newegg for 120-140 or so. you could cop a the new i5 ivy bridge from microcenter for 189 and get 50 off a z77 asus/gigabyte board. a 700 watt corsair power supply ($70 or so?). 8 gigs ram.

my calculations (i built this computer for someone a week ago)
cpu + mobo $310 with tax
graphics card: $140
ram: 45 for 8 gigs
2tb hd: i stripped of a external 3.0usb seagate - 80
SSD: i actually got the 256 gig m4 for $200
psu: 70
case: antec p280: $100

- 950 ish. add a few more for random shyt if im forgetting something. monitor is about 150 extra

if you have a strict budget then i would stick to a 128 gig and a smaller hd. you could get a sandy bridge i5 and an z68 processor for even cheaper

Just go to the benchmarks section. Keep in mind that processors are not that important anymore.

hell, the Celeron G530 can run any game out there just as long as you go HAM with the gpu.

The iMac spoiled me, I just can't go back to 1920x1080 anymore :to:

I just bought a new Asus laptop for work. I haven't play any PC game in ages but I might cop Diablo 3 just to relive the experiences.

Don't sweat it bruh. If it's bothering you, return the shyt you bought and get whatever they're recommending. If it doesn't bother you, enjoy what you have - you'll be able to play D3 on that.

Toms hardware disagrees with liquid, and thats all that really needs to be said. I thought it was pretty much a clear and general concensus that the 6870 is your best bang for buck
