If you pirate a antivirus program I don't think you can get the updates easy and thats the most important thing.

I think it gives priority to whatever you started copying first. When one is done the other one should speed up.

Security Essentials should be all you really need. I'd recommend NOD32 if you feel like "paying", but S.E. is just as good if not better.
Also for a quick start on downloading a bunch of programs go to the Ninite website.
