Duuuuuvaaaaal!!
same experience i had. i waited mad long to hear it cuz i thought it would be terrible according to the opinions i read

Me too. I had the album on my phone but never listened to it because of the negative shyt I heard about it. Then one day, the album I was listening to ended, and the Slaughterhouse album was next in line so it started. I was like :dwillhuh: this shyt sounds nice yo!

Ive been riding with it for the last week and I wasnt the biggest fan initially but I like it. I bunch of incredible emcees got together and got better production. Soooo... I dont understand the hate. Joe Budden and Royce got outshined by Crooked I and Joell repeatedly but I think the album is dope

What exactly was wrong with them trying to gain new fans with better production and more overall appealing music? Help me understand the criticism....

It's viewed as hypocritical by most people because these are the same 4 bums who have been preaching about what real hiphop is their whole careers. They were the first ones to call any rapper out who they thought sold out or dumbed down their music so it's no suprise that people are now calling them out for doing exactly the same shyt.

What's funny is they probably would've gotten a pass for trying to go more commercial if the album was at least catchy or listenable.. this album is :trash: even by those standards.

Mixtape or album it dont matter its all SH. Interscope probably had some say in what the Album came out as, Joe said they handed in 40 songs and left them to sort it out. a song with Tech n9ne was made but wasnt even put on mixtape.

no one on this board spends hard earned money on music. thats why the album was catered to fans who like lyricism but spend hard earned money. and they still were rapping better than 90 percent of rappers out right now :mjpls::yeshrug::ufdup:

so they didnt rap good enough and then you turn on them? how do u expect real lyricism to flourish if u dont support them thru thick and thin? they have tons of music catering to what u want from them. they make an album that admittedly they didnt pick the final cut on and now it sfukk them? what kind of fans are you? u undermined their whole mission with internet tirades on how u think its wack. it wasnt a perfect album and i was a fan of them individually more than as a group but im disgusted at how yall thru them under the bus. like their old shyt, buy their old ALBUMS. and maybe this one wouldve sounded like those. yall didnt buy them, so they tried something else. they are STILL RAPPING THEIR ASSES OFF. the only plave u can find this much lyricism not on their projects is on nas's album. THATS IT. fair wether ass nikkas. first yall convince me these nikkas are gods gift to hip hop then shyt on them when you dont pick the beats and track list....

That Tech n9ne track would have been crazy, Interscope dropped the ball. This album needed to be more gritty and less upbeat. :smh: @ Coming Home, Gone, and Sucka MCs not making the album.

Get Up should have been the 2nd single.

:scusthov: @ Who Am I (dead president sample)---> Everyone came nice, and Joell Ortiz verse was

lol @ the same folks who love Rick Ross criticizing Slaughter House. I've been listening to the mixtape and album like crazy, because most of the stuff coming out is garbage.

I hope Joell Ortiz makes a push next year, dude is too nice. Crooked I is untouchable when he stays on his LA shiit. Royce held his own, considering he has limited subject matter. Budden is in my top 5.

:childplease: How could i turn on them when i was never a fan to begin with? They're 4 overrated rappers who are good at making punchlines about other rappers shoes and forcing unnecessary wordplay into their verses but couldnt write a song to save their lives. After all the years they've been in the game do they have a classic song or even a solid album between them?

I'm not suprised that some people like the album though.. certain people are gonna hear a bunch of double timed flows with some corny metaphors about nothing mixed in and be blown away by how 'lyrical' they are. Most people who arent as easily impressed are gonna see the album for what it is which is why the overwhelming general consensus from both Slaughterhouse fans to the average listener speaks for itself.

I can't even take you guys seriously when Rick Ross is the gold standard on The-Coli.
