Ive been riding with it for the last week and I wasnt the biggest fan initially but I like it. I bunch of incredible emcees got together and got better production. Soooo... I dont understand the hate. Joe Budden and Royce got outshined by Crooked I and Joell repeatedly but I think the album is dope

What exactly was wrong with them trying to gain new fans with better production and more overall appealing music? Help me understand the criticism....

These guys don't even buy albums, I don't take their opinions seriously. They'll call 9 out 10 albums wack, and will call anything by Rick Ross or from the south good.

Joell Ortiz needs to make a push next year.

The production was much much weaker than their first album. You can't seriously think Alex da Kid beats and Skylar Grey singing makes songs "good"

Nah Joell had a few wack bars. And no one's complaining about the lyrics. The direction and sound of the album sucked though.

Better production? We just have different ears. Let me say this...when the mixtape dropped, I kinda had this feeling they were gonna go far left with this album...but this is what i said to myself....sometimes mcees can be so good that you dont have to like the production but can still get into the album off lyrics alone. I was thinking that I knew they were going to have some tracks that were out there but I still would like it. I was wrong. Its just not good production...not for the guys that are rhyming over it...but what made it unbearable to me was they seriously dumbed down the lyrics. Man, they had some of the weakest lines I heard from anybody recently, much less for them. Especially Jo and Crook. They tried too hard to get the mainstream to listen and they compromised too much for my tastes.

I'm the last person to complain about production, so when I say that the beats on this were trash and don't match SH at all I think that says alot. Simply put the whole vibe of the album sounded forced, people need to go back and bump the first SH album and see there is a huge difference in tone and quality all around.

I just wish there was something on the new Slaughterhouse that was as banging as Fight Club or Microphone.

Only songs I can really fukk with on this album are Goodbye, Get Up, The Other Side, and Hammerdance. Everything else is either average or wack. That ratio sucks for a supergroup made up of guys I check for individually (except Buddens).
