For those who say it was underwhelming, what made it that? It's a drama first with wrestling second.
.Main characters are unlikable. You can’t have a show where both stars can :camby:

.Supporting cast is weak. Crystal and Wild Bill the only interesting ones.

.Doesnt feel like a legit drama for Wrasslin. Feels like a teen drama with adult tones.

.storylines aren’t engaging.

IMO it should be one and done. In addition to it being underwhelming as a whole, I think it could have been much better to base this show in the 70's or early 80's. Territorial feuds set in modern day feels extremely out of place.
I heard it was a territory show and assumed it was based on the past. It's modern day? Missed opportunity...

maybe i'll get a starz trial and binge this one day, but stephen amell was unlikeable the 2 or 3 times i forced myself to watch full episodes of Arrow. :scust:Is this show even funny or has any fukkery in it, or are they tryna play it serious? GLOW has a nice blend of serious with funny (and titties).

This 100%

I didn't know this was 4 years in the making like this.

But yeah, I thought it was going to be set in the '70s or '80s when I first heard about it.

I kinda low key thought it was gonna be a take off of the Von Erichs in Texas.

That would've been a hell of a series.

It surprised me how mid it kinda was considering they make Stephen Amell out to be such a wrestling guy, when a wrestling guy would know why the whole "territory" thing in 2021 is a bad idea.

Definitely fukkery. Wild Bill IS fukkery. There was some decent laughs, too. I liked the show, but it wasn't spectacular. I'd like to see a second season to see if they can improve it. I think the premise is doable, it being in the present with the internet, and Jack trying to make it work and being a traditionalist would be a strength if they wrote it well enough. And like someone said, the wife is annoying. Could also use more T and A besides Krystal, who has no T and A.

It got renewed for a 2nd season

Starz has renewed “Heels” for a second season, one that will feature more Bobby Pin and Diego Cottonmouth: Actors Trey Tucker and Robby Ramos, respectively, have been promoted to series regulars.

Production on Season 2 will begin in 2022, Starz said in announcing the renewal on Wednesday.

“It’s clear from the critical and fan acclaim that the stories and characters from the Duffy Wrestling League have made a connection with audiences bringing a community that is not often found to premium TV,” Jeffrey Hirsch, president and CEO at Starz, said in a statement. “I’m excited for our amazing cast and executive producers to get back into the ring together for a second season.”

They desperately need to improve the character development of the main characters otherwise next season will be their last.

This is the same network that let 50 rock with YEARS worth of fukkery for Power. They'll be aight.

This isn't even the worst show on the network. Hightown is pretty bad and they renewed that without thinking twice. :manny:

Michael Waldron, who worked on Rick & Morty and Loki and has credits on the new Dr. Strange flick is involved. They'll keep it for that alone.

1) Power pulled in the highest ratings in Starz history so of course they're getting leeway

2) Hightown >>> Heels, and now Hightown has Luis Guzman Da Gawd this season

I tried to watch this show and fell asleep 2 separate times and gave up. The acting is pretty bad and the story is super cheesy. Didn’t even make it to whatever episode Punk was on. Might give it another shot before S2 drops. :ld:
