Was that a Yusef Hawkins mural early in the segment?

His mom is right about him cb4-ing his early childhood about poverty and such. He lived in a rough part of Bed Stuy but his Mom gave him a relatively comfortable life. Can't make songs about private school and having video game systems that you charge other kids to play, and owning (purchased) Polo shirts, though.
Rest in Peace to Chrissy-Poo

some of y’all make the worst analogies

CB4-ing is growing up in the suburbs which is middle class or better with a two parent home and not being affiliated with the streets , not toting guns , not selling drugs, etc. etc.

he was born and raised in Bed Sty do or die, which is the hood by a single mother, whom actually worked as a schoolteacher and spent the little bit extra she had on giving her son a few things his peers could never have … because all of his nikkaz from his area , mom’s were on welfare/public assistance

Do you thinkbtheyve actually played polo tho lol. Posing with a mallet is a far cry from that
If the topic was CRICKET, you'd have a better case for people from recent UK colonies being more aware of it than those from older colonies. But even then, ABC Wide World of Sports tv show exposed American audiences to a lot of different things.

Give you credit, though. Other posters would have gotten upset to see their point blown up, and tried to pivot to......."bu bu bu but DJ Polo has to be Jamaican descent."

*just jokes

You know we were poor poor back in the day and didn’t realize it. You know this when the kid with a video game and polo was considered rich

To dudes from Bed-Stuy or other parts of Brooklyn, was what she said just a common local phrase/snap ?

Like just a general comment that Brooklyn would say to show that they were up on something first.

Jay Z 's intro has him using the same phrasing

Suburbs doesn’t automatically mean middle class or growing up with both parents. There is crime & poverty in the suburbs. Suburb is just a term that means outside of a major city.
Crime & poverty in Atlanta’s suburbs are just as bad if not worse than the actual city of Atlanta
